I'm not so sure Katie had a lot of material on the Scilons; I think it's the change in public perception of Co$ since the Cruise/Kidman divorce.

Back in the Nicole days, people saw Co$ as the secretive, ultra-litigious religion of the stars that would sue you back to the stone age if you dared to challenge them. Even major news organizations were afraid to do critical stories.

Now, it's just a wacked-out space alien cult that's the laughingstock of South Park and late night comedians. Xenu is a household word. The billion-year Sea Org contract is widely known (and ridiculed).
