While CoS doesn't make members sever ties with quiet relatives who never joined, it is irate at any famous member who quits, even if they say nothing, since this creates negative publicity.

I hope someday Tom and Nicole's children speak up about what they were made to believe.

I hope that one day Marty stands up and takes responsibility for things like this...He puts the cult in the light here, but was a party to situations like this...I will watch it, but he turns my stomach. I also hope one day Marty admits that LRON was a con.

However imperfect the interview, this is real mainstream media. Many people will watch this who never heard of Scientology abuses.

they totally ignored xenu, billion year contracts, sea org, rpf, coerced abortions, body thetans etc.

As to some of the cavaets posted here, yeah, well, what do you expect, it's an NBC semi-primetime show. I look at it from a relative standpoint, it will basically stand as yet another nail in the cult's coffin.

Isn't it hilarious, btw, that you have all of these television shows on Scientology and no one ever appears on camera to represent their side anymore? You just have these faceless letters. What, they can't let anyone out of the hole for fear they might blow?
