Feshbachs lose billion-$ fund despite OT abilities

Post by Don Carlo » Sat Nov 22, 2008 5:27 pm

During the 1980s, (Matt) Feshbach and his two brothers, Kurt and Joe, built up
a $1 billion Feshbach Brothers investment fund... (which was) liquidated in 1992...
Matt Feshbach founded MLF Investments (which) suffered a reversal of
fortunes in 2007...
(Since then, Feshbach's holdings in Ambassadors International and Delias) posted steep declines....

While business and finance media were happy to interview Matt Feshbach in 2005, 2006 and early 2007, they've dropped him off the list of "people worth interviewing." Matt has a photo in a 2002 interview at http://www.stumbleupon.com/toolbar/#url ... ilogo2.asp

Joe Feshbach, Matt's twin. 2007 interview: http://www.fool.com/investing/small-cap ... hbach.aspx

Joe Feshbach 2005 interview: http://www.marketwatch.com/News/Story/S ... ist=google

Joe's daughter Jessica Rodriguez is (or was) Katie Holme's handler
http://www.holysmoke.org/cos/spooky-jes ... riguez.htm

Kurt Feshbach June 2008 interview, at http://www.fastcompany.com/blog/kurt-fe ... rt-history

This interview appears to be the last known interview in the financial press, of a Feshbach brother. Of course, since June there has been a huge financial crash and many investment firms are impoverished and discredited, especially the high-flyers and hedge fund traders.

It's of course possible to MAKE money selling short in a bear market, and the market is wildly gyrating now, so a zoom upward will penalize shorts. Time will tell if the Feshbachs lose what's left of their reputation and fortune.

Don. What level did one have to be on the bridge to take this "Super power" course?

Matt Feshbach is an OT VIII:
http://www.truthaboutscientology.com/st ... hbach.html

I think it was high level of moneeee and influence that got him the Super Power training, because other OT VIII's didn't get it.

"Donated millions!" is the level. Super Power is not available to the regular public. I've heard there is a small handful of people who have ever done Super Power.

I suspect that David Miscavige selected Matt Feshbach because he was (a) rich, and (b) he was then made to go around the country holding "financial seminars" and selecting (FSMing) people onto services. The schtick was that Matt's success was "because of" Super Power. Actually, Matt's success was before Super Power.

I remember being on course with Matt Feshbach who was doing PRO TRs. This was after his Super Power rundowns. I've also been to two of his seminars. I found him unimpressive. Just another money-successful man who is now shilling for CofS.

Old Feshbach dirt:

In 1999,
the Justice Department charged Curative Health Services --- where Feshbach then served as chairman --- with Medicare fraud.
from http://www.holysmoke.org/cos/spooky-jes ... riguez.htm

As controlling owners of Chocolat in the 1990's, the Feshbach brothers bullied their employees into Scientology courses. See http://stop-wise.biz/Cocolat_930321.html
In 1981, Kurt, a high school dropout, was a diamond broker. Matthew, who never attended college, was running a tennis school and store in Menlo Park. Joe, who briefly attended Utah State University, had become a volunteer minister for the Church of Scientology
from Short Road to Success Investing at http://www.scientology-lies.com/press/l ... sting.html

Time Magazine's 1991 article mentions that they use private investigators, so this is another analogy with CoS, which also uses private investigators.
The Thriving Cult of Greed and Power:
The Feshbachs...owe it all to the teachings of Scientology, whose "war chest" has received more than $1 million from the family.

The Feshbachs also embrace the church's tactics; the brothers are the terrors of the stock exchanges. In congressional hearings in 1989, the heads of several companies claimed that Feshbach operatives have spread false information to government agencies and posed in various guises -- such as a Securities and Exchange Commission official -- in an effort to discredit their companies and drive the stocks down. Michael Russell, who ran a chain of business journals, testified that a Feshbach employee called his bankers and interfered with his loans. Sometimes the Feshbachs send private detectives to dig up dirt on firms, which is then shared with business reporters, brokers and fund managers.

... as part of a current probe into possible insider stock trading, federal officials are reportedly investigating whether the Feshbachs received confidential information from FDA employees. The brothers seem aligned with Scientology's war on psychiatry and medicine: many of their targets are health and bio- technology firms. ""Legitimate short selling performs a public service by deflating hyped stocks," says Robert Flaherty, the editor of Equities magazine and a harsh critic of the brothers. "But the Feshbachs have damaged scores of good start-ups."
from http://www.scientology-lies.com/press/t ... power.html

Perhaps as new converts, filled with anti-psychiatry zeal, the Feshbachs started aggressive research of drug companies and biotech companies. With a file full of a drug company's inside embarassments and misdeeds, they sold short (betting that the stock would crash) in that company. Then they alerted the media of their findings, perhaps exaggerating, and reaped profit. This became the seed money and pathway that they followed and abused.

So readers, maybe there was a cure for your present ailment, that might have been discovered by one of these "good" biotech companies that the Feshbachs destroyed.

Two things,

1) The Feshbacks (I think it was both brothers, may have been just one),
were "Awarded" Super Power. They are the only public I know of who got this, and it wasn't only due to their donations, alone, as many people donated millions to SP.

What they did was have meetings after meetings, getting their wealthy friends and people they knew educated on Super Power
and how "important it was", "How vital it was to donate NOW", etc.
thus the reg's COULD fleece those people for more thousands, hundreds
of thousands, and millions of dollars. Also, remember an "FSM" (Field Staff Member) gets
10% of any donations, sometimes 20%.

The Feshback's are THE top "FSM's" (Field Staff Members) for SP and that is why they were given it, at least that is what we were told, when I was 'in".

2) The Feshback brothers have made their millions buying company stocks when they are "Short"----so I would think they are in their hay day.
We'll see how it pans out, but if anyone is going to, they'd be on the list.

However, as long as they remain "In" Scientology, there is no worse
Karma, imnsho.

Happy Thanksgiving to ALL  :chef:

Joe continues "investing" from his home-office on the San Francisco Peninsula. He and his wife Cindy and their trillions of remaining body thetans also manage the Scientology Soma "Mission" ...
LOL! SOMA "Mission" closes down
(Before) October 2008...they had moved out to the western fringe... the Sunset District. Their new joint is much, much smaller.

...Joe lost millions in the meltdown! Can no longer afford the downtown high prices!

The new "Mission" location will be a very amusing place to protest. Not only is the local AZN community highly skeptical of the Scilons, but the new place is right on a main streetcar line.

Kurt Feshbach on HubPages
Kurt Feshach never followed tradition: from not finishing high school to playing professional poker in order to supplement his income when he first started in the shorts investment market.

After leaving high school, Kurt Feshbach lived in Israel for 18 months on a kibbutz. Upon returning to the States, he tried going to junior college, but again found higher education wasn’t for him. He ended up working in a gum factory for $2.50 an hour...and hasn't had a "real job" since.

For the next few years he tried selling various things including gold and diamond jewelry...

In 1980 he left the diamond business and started doing financial public relations for small oil and gas companies. At that time he met one of his early mentors who...showed Mr. Feshbach...how to do valuations and how to understand business and their economics.

Kurt Feshbach has shorted hundreds of stocks over the years; many are no longer around. His scope has included energy, entertainment, financials, retail, restaurants, fads, frauds, dumb ideas, uneconomic ideas and companies who have missed the mark entirely.
from http://hubpages.com/profile/Kurt-Feshbach
You know Kurt wrote this (the site says he joined ten months ago) because he slipped into first person (I) instead of third person (he). Writing is not his forte. I like how Kurt has three whole fans on his hub page. If Kurt is so skillful at finding loser companies and selling them short, how come he seems to have lost his touch?

Feshbachs - Superpowers at Int Base (in California):
Super Power - 1995

Two girls...worked...in the Qualification Division of Gold. Katie and Melissa...not sisters, but cousins and both daughters of the famed Feshbach brothers....famous within Scientology because they were rich...still rich after giving millions of their dollars to Scientology...crazy rich.

...My wife...worked with Katie and Melissa... When Katie got married to a good friend of mine, my wife and I shared an apartment with Katie and her husband Josh.

Melissa had a car, but had not done Car School, so I frequently would... drive her car whenever I needed, in exchange for being her driver...

...Katie and Melissa...found out...their dads and their uncle... Joe, Matt and Kurt Feshbach would end up coming to the base for several weeks.

...They were all going to get Super Power! Supposedly Dave Miscavige had personally invited them to...get the highly confidential level as part of a handling program...

The Super Power Rundown had been being done at the Int Base for years. It was a pilot program...like the Star Wars movies. LRH had envisioned the processes, but the earth technology did not exist...still, the pilots continued and staff were being audited on Super Power. There were very few Int Base staff that were trained on...Super Power and they were the only ones who could audit it... The rundowns on Super Power were designed to hone in all 57 perceptics as written up by LRH:...
1. Time
2. Sight
3. Taste
etc

I remember seeing one of the Feshbach brothers on the Par Course... with his auditor, Gelda Mithoff. The Par Course...had various obstacles and sand pits off to the side of the track where one could work out and check one’s heart rate. He was walking across one of the wood balance beams....If he fell down at any point during the course they could switch over to the “Pain” perceptic. Anyway, that is where they apparently did a bulk of the perceptics with the Feshbach brothers.

After a few weeks...they were all “completed”... the Feshbachs donated at least 4 million dollars...to the Super Power Building.

No Feshbach interviews by finance media in 2008 or 2009 that I can find. They got quite a few interviews when they were flying high around 2006 and earlier. Now they're ignored by the media, so they have to troll for customers on sites like "linked in."

Matt Feshbach's pathetic linked-in profile here

Just imagine if they'd like to quit being big donors for CoS, but with daughters in Sea Org, they fear CoS would force their daughters to disconnect from them, and Miscavige might mistreat the daughters.

Theyd all have to quit at once to keep this tight and notorious family together. Wouldn't that be great!

A few of us will be protesting in front of the Palo Alto Mission, run by Cindy Feshback. The mission recently moved and are having a grand opening. You can see updated pics here of the misson:

We will be informing the general public about their new neighbors.

Cindy Feshbach must still be deeply "in" Scientology if she is opening a new mission. Here's her photo. http://www.smi.org/openmission/mhsay/cindy-feshbach.htm

If you see her, tell her to go to a doctor and check her lungs for asbestos from the Freewinds ship.
Her name was in Freewinds Magazine (published by CoS) as a passenger. The list is compiled at
http://www.truthaboutscientology.com/stats/fw/
