An unworthy cause
The Gazette April 5, 2012 " Re: "Anonymous unmasked" (Gazette, April 31).

It is contemptuous to violate the law and the rights of others "for a good cause" or in the guise of freedom of speech.

As a "target" of Anonymous, we observed first-hand their wild antics like simulating sexual acts on the sidewalks for all to see and their "protests" with messages of intolerance and hatred against our religious beliefs and our members.

A series of acts of vandalism and intimidation took place during the same period: windows repeatedly broken, hate mail and a large number of obscene phone calls, including a few bomb threats.

In short, an array of antisocial actions committed anonymously, in the name of impunity, which are not worthy of praise but rather the mark of incivility and hooliganism.

Love this hypocritical bit:

Hmm, the cult of scientology never does precisely that at all because, apparently, they say they are a church of a religion and religions are nice by default, aren't they? Look, they even have a churchy cross so they must like do all that jesus stuff. ....wait, what?... they don't?.... you mean they are a greedy cult that scams and abuses its members and critics whilst claiming to the world, in shiny brochures and DVDs, that they do good things? It's a wonder some people don't protest them with vigor....oh wait...they do.

He just doesn't like it up his cult.

Didn't those alleged things (sex acts, bomb threats) happen the first few months of Anonymous pickets, and happen in California, and were strangely lacking in evidence?

Just to be clear, that's Simulated, he's saying. Not actual sex acts.
Anyway, as far as Montreal is concerned I think it is dancing or just play, not even "simulated sex acts". Jean has an overactive imagination. I've never seen protesters do anything that hasn't already been expressed in street theatre or carnival. The point is, if they'd done anything lewd to the level of breaking the actual law in their locale and the cult had flmed them doing it (which they usually do) then why haven't any protesters arrested for it and convicted? Answer: because they didn't do anything wrong. If Jean is actually seeing something he might not like then that doesn't make it automatically wrong.

As for "bomb threats", remember the one in 2008 which originated a youtube video and scientology subsequently produced a DVD crying about it but it had higher quality footage than original youtube video which suggested that they had done it. It seems that they made the mistake of using the upload source whereas if you were trying to frame someone then you should use a copy of what the public saw, i.e. you'd use a downloaded rip of the already uploaded youtube video. There was no proof of an investigation into the so called "bomb threat" and CoS were lucky there was no investigation on them.

Also who can forget the famous bomb threat that scientology did on themselves but but trying to frame journalist Paulette Cooper in the process by obtaining a blank piece of paper with with her finger prints on it.
