A trained psychologist or psychiatrist would have spotted the warning signs and got this person professional help. Instead, the Scientology auditor likely said neutral words like "okay" as Luka talked about crimes against animals and how he plotted to commit crimes against people. Auditors are not supposed to invalidate the student. Maybe the auditor recommended an ethics course! And for any drug addiction, the ineffective Narconon saunas and niacin overdoses. But never professional psychiatric help.

It seems hard to tell what is the cause of what in this case.
He seems to have a persistent interested in a high profile while doing things that make people hate him.

Maybe "joining Scientology" was in the same line as those kitten-suffocating videos he supposedly put online - a way of enjoying the attention by of people just exposed to something they find objectionable.

I'm not able to believe anything this person says. Maybe he was in Scientology, probably he wasn't. Scientology is notorious and he appears to enjoy notoriety. It is logical that he would pick this particular organization. In his mind it increases his glamour and cachet.

Damn though but this man gives me the willies.

Luka Magnotta is a narcissist. His defense team can't order a psych exam without their client's OK. I suspect in saying nada to a psych exam & demanding a jury trial, Magnotta wants to put on a performance in his trial.
