57th Anniversary Dianetics event-19 May 2007

Post by 'Alert' » Tue Apr 24, 2007 11:15 am

It's still a month away, but here in Sydney the desperation to get confirmations to the 57th Anniversary of dianetics is pure comical in a way. Phone calls being placed at 10pm at night to listed names isnt going down well at all, even with some of the true believers and loyal clams.

The events comittee have pulled out all stops on a nice venue to align both current members and the truly gillible that actually show up to events. The event is being held at the Seymour Centre at the corner of Cleveland Street and City Rd Chippendale (The University of Sydney).
Doors open at 6.00pm and the event starts at 6.30 (as if!)

The Seymour Centre is pretty swish and flash and is actually a Theatre. CSA Inc have booked the 2 largest Theatre rooms, I guess that is why the sounds of voices on the phone sound sio desperate for confirmations. Seymour Centre Theatre has a website to look at here, but I dont know that you'll find the seating capacities or the charges to hire out to theatre rooms. The information fairy delivers as usual and I knew my Nana was right when she told there were fairies out there that magically appear and deliver the goods. Here is what ny information fairy delivered about the cost of hiring and the seating capacity for the upcoming diannetics PR bonanza.

Welcome

The Seymour Theatre Centre is a performing arts centre at the University of Sydney that houses three theatres, a café, bars and expansive foyers.
The Centre can accommodate functions of all kinds, from theatre presentations and conferences to cocktails and dinners.

The York Theatre

The largest theatre in the centre, the York, has a seating capacity of 788 in a semi-circular, amphitheatre configuration with a thrust stage.
Although the space is ideally suited to theatre works, it can easily accommodate music, dance or concert performances. With only 12 rows of seating from the back of the auditorium to the stage, the theatre offers an exceptional rapport between performers and audiences .

The Everest Theatre

The Everest Theatre is a flexible theatre with a seating capacity of 419-605 in a traditional proscenium-style configuration. It can be used for music, dance and theatre performances and incorporates acoustic features to provide optimum sound quality as well as a removable forestage that can vary the stage depth by over six metres. It is also an ideal venue for conferences, seminars and film screenings .
So if they cant even fill 250 odd chairs at the biggest event on the calender (LRH's bday event), how idiotic is it to hire out such plush surroundings only to have a third ( at the very best) of the seating left empty. There wouldnt be 500 interested wogs in all of sydney's massive population to even fill one Theatre.

It should make for ineresting photo op's to show just how empty these events are and the emptier they become. Holding events at Centrepoints Podium level is easy to diisguise just how little amount of people are showing up. Seymour is a totally different kettle of fish because all lighting and such is controlled and operated by Seymour Theatre Centre Staff.

Now, for the semi-breakdown of the cost for the 2 theatre rooms. Money isnt a problem for scientology usually, but when the local clams piss away money because they print up invites to an address that is being used the same day as a State election (see post about elrons b'day event 07) and then have to reprint and repost all the invites again.....lets just say the lower conditions were issued wide and far over the last debacle.

But I digress..
