"The first thing they teach kids is that there's a god - an invisible man in the sky who is watching what they do and who is displeased with some of it. There's no mystery why they start that with kids, because if you can get someone to believe that, you can add on anything you want."

ROFLMAO Merlin!

Can you switch to I-Loki if you reply to this? First you have to review a rather nice reply MERLIN made to a post I did on TRs. Where I also mentioned I had some weird mixups involving people who are colorblind and other people calling me by the wrong name.

Well, today I have had it with the "Hello is Lisa there?" callers. But I need your help, I-Loki Mon.

What I WANT to do is burst into song the NEXT time I get a call for Lisa. But I never start a song unless I know ALL the lyrics, you know.

And after Dan Garvin was so kind as to publish a little backup for an idea that I've been called just plain nuts for ever entertaining?

Here's the song I'm sure you'll recognize, Loki-Mon. I don't even know the title, though I think it was Dolly Parton who sang it or maybe not, maybe that was Jolene?

Whatever. The song BEGINS --

I'm not Lisa.

My name is Julie.
[/size]I know that is a wretched thought on one level. But a good thought for some people who are calling my number to think about seriously.

So I want the rest of the lyrics, Loki Mon. If I knew the real title or the artist? I wouldn't bug ya mon, because it really is not-fair to always be tappin' the Loki-Mon on the shoulder for music cues.

Back in awhile.

SWAK!

No problem, Lucy-mon. 8) Here ya go:

I'm Not Lisa (Words and music © by Jessi Colter; was also recorded by Tanya Tucker)

I’m not Lisa, My name is Julie.
Lisa left you years ago.
My eyes are not blue, but mine won’t leave you
‘Till the sunlight has touched your face.

She was your morning light,
Her smile told of no night.
Your love for her grew
With each rising sun.

And then one winter day,
His hand led her away.
She left you here drowning in your tears,
Here where you’ve stayed for years,
Crying Lisa, Lisa.

I’m not Lisa, My name is Julie.
Lisa left you years ago.
My eyes are not blue, but mine won’t leave you
‘Till the sunlight has touched your face.

I’m not Lisa.

Thank you, Loki-Mon. I was afraid they'd read something like this. I lose the melody, too, for the part that really counts. I could lose my voice again, singing this song. It's a true song, all except for that one line about how Lisa went away. I can't afford to lose my voice again when I may have to sing for my supper, and I have never sung a lie, I'd choke on it.

What isn't a lie is Julie is a wonderful woman. So I'll write my own song to her, maybe next year when I've had time to get to know her better because I'm done writing about what happened before she saved our lives.

Tom, Have you ever seen the "Misfortune Cookies"?

I lost all the little sayings I collected when the distributor was one of our clients. They were a riot!

Tory on ARS.

Thanks tory for the brilliant collection of quoates.

"Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only friends will leave
footprints in your heart. To handle yourself, use your mind, to handle
others use your heart.

Anger is only one letter short of danger. If someone betrays you once, it is
his fault. If he betrays you twice, it is your fault.

Great minds discuss ideals, average minds discuss events; small minds
discuss people.

He who loses money loses much; He who loses a friend, loses much more; he
who loses faith loses all.

Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, but beautiful old people are
works of art. Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough
to make them all yourself.

Friends, you and me.....you brought another friend...and then there were
3......we started our group....our circle of friends....And like a
circle....there is no beginning or end.....
Yesterday is history. Tomarrow is mystery. Today is a gift".

Elenor Roosevelt

My thanks to each person who has left their footprints in my heart. It may
sound corny....but they are there :)

Where is poverty on the tone scale?

Poverty often deprives a man of all spirit and virtue; it is hard for
