Scientology does not give people powers or awaken latent powers within
them. It develops an us or them mentality, destroys intuition, and
attempts to rape the minds of all it encounters. That is how it was
created, and that is how it continues. -Queso

Travolta is an OT(tm) and OTs are Big Beings(tm). As Travolta becomes more OT then the bigger the Being he becomes. That is what you are observing. You are witnessing the Tech(tm) at work.

Just because a person successfully completes the OT8 materials it is
not indicative that this person had previously lost the ability to leap
the tallest buildings with a single bound or better yet cure cancer
with a snap of the fingers. -Rd00

Amazing that anyone still dares to come up with the good old
'I don't wear glasses any more story', when Ron Hubbard never
even was able to get such a result on himself from any dianetics
auditing. Hubbard himself proved that diarretics is a load of
garbage by wearing glasses himself all his life except when he was
in public where he was nearly blind as a bat. The far away look he
has in some scientology publications is that he sees nothing
specifically to focus on. -Nessie

You can be as deluded as you like about Hubbard's science fiction. Just so long as you keep those views private you'll be fine. Airing them in public will make people think you're a few cards short of a deck.

bb posts mainly about people who have voluntarily lost their minds. I haven't got anything in particular against people doing that, provided
they understand that's what they're doing. I don't really see it as a *good* thing. -Jommy Cross

Most decent, ethical people look at Scientology's history of criminality and abuse say, "Why is this allowed to continue?" Most people express outrage and disgust by Scientology's cheap carnival. Then there are the indoctrinated who discard the solid evidence as a pack of lies put forth by a handful of disgruntled ex-members. And a small group of idiots who express admiration for this destructive
cult. -Barb

I do not mean to imply that Scientologists are stupid. This is not the case. Gullible, duped, illogical, unreasonable and insane yes. But not necessarily 'stupid'. Nor do I want to imply that Scientologists are universally or in every circumstance liars. This would not be true.
Scientology® only supports lying *if you really want to*, or if *it's good for Scientology*.-Zinj

Do you think your bigamist, adulterer LRH con-man, sentenced to 4 full undeferred years for fraud and extortion in France, sentenced 3 times in US for different exactions, was a paragon of virtue? He was just a plain criminal, stealer, fraud, con-man, pathological liar. -Roger

Clams practice an off-putting steady goggle-eyed stare;
also furtive and unconfident behaviour. Stilted speech dragging
in recognisable cult jargon and concepts. Poor communicators,
lacking in empathy. Drink no alcohol but smoke like chimneys. -Dave bird

In your own office you can spot these clams but they may do other things to give it away. Certainly, if you go in the wash room one day and you see one of your work collegues naked and chained to a water pipe with their own feces smeared over their face and walls and howling like a wolf then they would be a Scientologist put in "ISO" due to a "psychotic break".-Roland

The abuses of $cientology are nothing to laugh at, but the beliefs and certain practices of $cientology are a hoot. Spreading the hilarity will go along way towards the Co$' demise: no one is going to buy into a "applied religious philosophy" they can't take seriously. Yes, it is sad that many have suffered, but many more have been protected by the Shroud of Silliness. Thank Hubbard for the incredible silliness he has brought forth, which will be the ultimate ruin of $cientology. -Sea Otter

*Nobody* joins Scientology unless they're born or tricked into
it. Thanks to the internet, the number of people 'tricked' in
is approaching negligable. -Zinj

As for Hubbard's credibility: Hubbard made himself the sole
'source' of Scientology, the sole criterion of his claimed
'research' is his own claims. If Hubbard is not credible, then
*nothing* in Scientology is credible. -Zinj
