Well, I guess it didnt' take long for a smart ass to come along and attempt to trivialise the situation.

I guess you think you're been funny Mister, but the joke fell flat, was insensitive and out-of-order.

It's just the kind of crap that opens the door to more of the vicious type trolls that will now once again inevibably jump in and hijack this thread further.

Well they'll get no response from me.

By the way, what drugs exactly do I have in my system. You seem to know. Kindly now englighten us?

The thread and your posts are so long, that many of us will just skim them. I seem to recall some info that you are a heavy drinker/alcoholic? Popping pills?

Your major problem seems to be depression, right? You don't have half a chance in your battle with depression unless you stop drinking and taking drugs (unless the drugs are prescribed by a doctor for your depression).

If you can't or won't stop drinking (w/liver hepatitis) and you're suicidley depressed, then what you're actually doing is just drinking yourself to death. It has nothing to do with Scientology or leaving Scientology or whatever. Bottom line is, until you're free from the grip of alcohol for a period of time, you don't have a clear picture of what other "problems" you may have.

Get some help, get sober, give your mind and body a fighting chance. Go to AA... if after one year of sobriety, you still want to kill yourself, well...

Toney, I went back and read this thread and several other threads, and I agree many posts, including mine in the other threads, were cold. We didn't read, or forgot, how many illnesses you have and how you're in difficulties beyond what some of us can imagine. Some of the people who were arguing with you the most don't post anymore, but new ones with skepticism and stinging jokes have replaced them. My proposal for a new thread was likely over-optimistic. When you are sending out so many confusing signals, any one of them can attract cold dry logic. This thread started out with a number of caring and thoughtful replies, and I stayed out of it in August because I hoped it would stay positive. But it takes two to argue, and you turned criticism into raging catfights and were more negative than the people you were arguing with.

You get most angry about being advised to give up alcohol, and post news items proving you're an average UK drinker. But the average UK drinker, while worryingly pickled, isn't suicidal with major medical and psychological problems, so I would try to be better than, rather than equal to, this lot. I know it's bossy, nanny, scolding behavior, but your drinking is not only killing your liver, you are "posting under the influence" and it's making you touchy, moody, negative, and verbally agressive. This is annoying to some people, who post back angrily. If you must drink, drink after you post. (Advice I'd like to give to quite a few posters here!)

One thing that puzzles me. You mention how ex-CoS members have a high suicide rate, but I couldn't find a post where you explained how long you were in CoS and what it was like for you. Can you tell us? Thanks.

I'm not trivializing any situation involving alcoholism as I know the devastation it causes to all touched by it, especially the family of the alcoholic. Though this may be dustbinned because it's totally just getting way out there I'll put in 2 cents worth and have done with it.

Toney - you stop by every so often with the same basic rap. You claim to have taken enough drugs to kill a moose yet 'miraculously' you survive each one of these 'attempts'. Sorry, I don't buy it. You claim to be misunderstood but you are driving the misunderstandings.

If YOU are posting here for the purpose of trivializing drug addiction, depression, manic-depressiveness, etc. then that is truly sad.

If you are truly sick and need help, I hope you find it but it is certainly not going to be here. And, as I'm sure you know, don't bother with AA. Their success rate is less than scientology's. (There - At least I incorporated something about scientology here.)

Toney, urticaria is a symptom of liver failure. I seriously think that Hubtoad was suffering a major case of DTs complete with urticaria when he invented the OT levels. (body thetan infestations.) The liver will spontaneously regenerate to a degree if given a break...and as I recall one can survive with a mere 10 percent of functioning liver.

Are your eyes yellow? Do you have swollen fingertips? Ascites? I don't see any symptoms of Wernicke's, your memory and ability to communicate are more intact than most peoples.

I can't find your #, not that I don't care...but you should see my office  . But if you pm me I will call.

Have a look at this thread: "Was L. Ron Hubbard Sexually Molested as a Child?" http://ocmb.xenu.net/ocmb/viewtopic.php?t=16702

I wrote and did a lot of research on this thread, as did many others. Start on page one...that's where some of the best background stuff is.

I would really like your opinion. I know from what you have told me nd written here you had a pretty abusive childhood. I think your input would be very valuable.

I know better than to try to humour you, this is an honest request.

Sincerely, Ladybird

Speak for yourself, please, not for others here on this MB.

This article migt be of interest to you Toney:

Quote:
"When Homeland Security began talking about the Information Highway,
we all knew the bureaucrats would get involved more than we might
like. In fact, it may already be too late to stop a horrible Senate
bill from becoming law.

The moniker--Information Highway--itself seems to be responsible for
SB #040194. Introduced by Senator Patrick Leahy, it's designed to
prohibit anyone from using a public computer network (Information
Highway) while the computer user is intoxicated. I know how silly this
sounds, but Congress apparently thinks that being drunk on a highway
is bad no matter what kind of highway it is. The bill is expected to
pass this month.

There already are rampant arguments as to how this proposed law can
possibly be enforced. The FBI hopes to use it as an excuse to do
routine wiretaps on any computer if there is any evidence that the
owner "uses or abuses alcohol and has access to a modem." Note how it
slips in the word 'uses'. This means if you've been seen drinking one
lone beer, you can have your line tapped.

Because this law would be so difficult to enforce, police officials
are drooling over the prospect of easily obtaining permits to do
wiretaps. Ask enforcement officials in Washington and they'll tell you
the proposed law is idiotic, but none will oppose it. Check the
classified ads in the "Washington Post" and you'll find the FBI,
National Security Agency, and something called the Online Enforcement
Agency (when did they set that up?) all soliciting experts in phone
technology, specifically wiretapping.

It gets worse. The Congressional Record of February 19, 1994, has a
report that outlines the use of computerized BBSes, Internet,
Inter-Relay Chat, and CompuServe CB as "propagating illicit sexual
encounters and meetings between couples--any of whom are
underage...Even people purporting to routinely have sex with animals
are present on these systems to foster their odd beliefs on the
public-at-large." A rider on SB #040194 makes it a felony to discuss
sexual matters on any public-access network, including the Internet,
America Online, and CompuServe.

I wondered how private companies such as America Online can be
considered public-access networks, so I called Senator Barbara Boxer's
office and talked to an aide, a woman named Felicia. She said the use
of promotional cards that give away a free hour or two of service
constitues public access. You know, like the ones found in the back of
books or in modem boxes. She also told me most BBS systems fall under
this proposed statute. When asked how they propose to enforce this
law, she said it's not Congress's problem. "Enforcement works itself
out over time," she said.

The group fighting this moronic law is led by Jerome Bernstein of the
Washington law firm of Bernstein, Bernstein and Knowles (the firm that
first took Ollie North as a client). I couldn't get in touch with any
of the co-sponsors of the bill (including Senator Ted Kennedy, if you
can believe it!), but Bernstein was glad to talk. "These people have
no clue about the Information Highway or what it does. The whole thing
got started last Christmas during an antidrinking campaign in the
Washington D.C., metro area," Bernstein said, "I'm convinced someone
jokingly told Leahy's office about drunk driving on the Information
Highway and the idea snowballed. These senators actually think there
is a physical highway. Seriously, Senator Pat Moynihan asked me if you
needed a driving permit to 'drive' a modem on the Information Highway!
He has no clue what a modem is, and neither does the rest of
Congress."

According to Bernstein, the antisexual wording in the bill was
attributed to Kennedy's office. "Kennedy thought that technology was
leaving him behind, and he wanted to be perceived as more up-to-date
technologically. He also though this would make amends for his alleged
philandering."

Unfortunately, the public is not much better informed than the Senate.
The Gallup Organization, at the behest of Congress, is polling the
public regarding intoxication while using a computer and online "hot
chatting." The results are chilling. More than half of the public
thinks that using a computer while intoxicated should be illegal! The
results of the sexuality poll are not available. But one question,
"Should a teenage boy be encouraged to pretend he is a girl while
chatting with another person online?" has civil rights activists
alarmed. According to Kevin Avril of the ACLU, "This activity doesn't
even qualify as virtual cross-dressing. Who cares about this stuff?
What are we going to do? Legislate an anti-boys-will-be-boys law? It
sets a bad precedent."

I could go on and on with quotes and complaints from people regarding
this bill. But most of the complaints are getting nowhere. Pressure
groups, such as one led by Baptist ministers from De Kalb County,
Georgia, are supporting the law with such vehemence that they've
managed to derail an effort by modem manufacturers (the biggest being
Georgia-based Hayes) to lobby against the law. "Who wants to come out
and support drunkenness and computer sex?" asked a congressman who
requested anonymity.

So, except for Bernstein, Bernstein, and Knowles, and a few members of
the ACLU, there is nothing to stop this bill from becoming law. You
can register your protests with your congressperson or Ms. Lirpa Sloof
in the Senate Legislative Analysts Office. Her name spelled backward
says it all.
