You're right, it was my choice to give out personal info. I only said what I said so others might learn a lesson on internet safety, one I have had to learn the hard way. I hope the person who posts as KG to reveal personal info on me, I hope that person remembers all I told them and why this would be damaging to me and my family. As I said before, I learned my lesson.

If I may join in on this point. Some months ago on ARS I had the pleasure of being argued with by two critics about something I posted on ARS. They were concerned to point out that what I had said had happened, could not have happened "because SO members would not do that". Therefore I had to be lying and the thread degenerated from there.

I have seen that critics who were not in Scientology seem (and I emphasize seem) to have a very monolithic view of the organization and the people in it.

For example I have not seen any (non scn) critic say anything good about Mike Rinder - yet he is someone I know (or knew) pretty well, he is a lot of fun, he is someone you could go out with for an evening and have a few beers and a lot of laughs. Doesn't quite fit the popular picture does it? And yet he was the CO OSA Int and someone who was running people who behave like assholes.

Sometimes it is, indeed, hard to sort through all the BS. Sometimes it may be harder for us exes to sort it out, after all we were dumb/naive enough to fall for it hook line and sinker before...

I think the point that Lulu is making is that sometimes there can be veins of speculative crap about the CofS. The end result of that speculation is that the people doing the speculating look strange and the CofS looks like a victim.
