Anonymous Press Release (released Oct. 3rd 08)

3 October 2008 — Anonymous marches forward on their path of exposing the illegal and immoral behavior of the Church of Scientology with a protest this October. This will be the ninth such protest to take place since Anonymous announced their intent to "dismantle the Church in its present form" in January of 2008. The group has been disseminating information about the nefarious misdeeds of Scientology and its multitude of front groups, while also fighting for the rights of those affected by the "Church." Most recently, Anonymous has made headlines exposing Scientology's "bad neighbor" policies to the Los Angeles City Council, and has sat down with the faculty at New Village Leadership Academy to discuss the dangers of Scientology indoctrination. The new private school, founded by actor Will Smith, will be incorporating "Study Tech" (a Scientology method of learning). However, according to Smith, the school will not be used as a tool to recruit young Scientologists nor will they pay the Church any licensing fees to use the methodology.

On Saturday, October 18th, the collective will stage another global protest against the Church of Scientology, exposing various frightening realities by way of Halloween-based themes. As with other Anonymous gatherings, the global protest will be a peaceful event, with participants using costumes and humour to inform the public of the very real dangers presented by the Church of Scientology.

Nightmare on LRH Way, the theme embraced by Los Angeles Anonymous, will showcase the group's interpretation of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard's life; the macabre theme will show the stark contrast between reality and the fiction sold to his followers. London and several cities will be host to Anonymous zombie hordes, meant to educate the public on Scientology's brainwashing practices. Other locations, including Boston, will see the dead rise to bring attention to the long list of suspicious deaths tied to the Church.

Anonymous is also happy to announce the unveiling of Chanology's new abode on the internet, http://forums.whyweprotest.net. Recent problems led to the loss of Anonymous' previous home, leaving many without a place to gather. In the downtime, WhyWeProtest.net's sister site, Scientology-Exposed.com, has done a wonderful job of bringing the global members of Anonymous together, and will continue to serve as both an ongoing meeting place and a backup when needed.

Please note: Some cities will be holding their October protest on the 11th rather than the 18th due to scheduling; attendants are advised to check for city-specific information at http://forums.whyweprotest.net/
