Int. Scn News Issue 28 Sept 2004

" In Phoenix, Arizona, org staff and OT Amabassadors found new
premises at the city center. Located only two blocks from LRH's
own first home in Phoenix, the new org is on one of the
most prominent streets downtown with space to quadruple
the org's delivery potential."

They used to have a place on Central Avenue in Phoenix, but apparently
it was too big or something so they moved. they've moved several times
here, and I've never seen it be because they've outgrown a place,
that's for sure.
The building they are in now in Mesa is for sale (or maybe it's
sold). they had to move sooner or later.

They may have space to quadruple in their new digs, but I'd be surprised if they actually grow much. My husband volunteered for a few months at the Phoenix org, doing recruitment. He commented at the time that, although they were constantly mailing out literature - literally thousands & thousands of brochures and letters - basically the same few people came in for courses & auditing, and the org never grew.

It's been four years since we left CoS ... not sure what's happening at the Phoenix org now, but I doubt things have changed much.

LRH's house in Phoenix was bought by Scn a few years back and is another reno project on the list. It will be open to the public, but it will be remodeled, i.e. room layouts, closets, bathrooms, walls will not be as the original house was. I believe the master bath will be kept so you can visit where LRH sat on his throne.

"The home where Hubbard tortured his second wife, kidnapped the infant
baby Alexis, tried to kill his wife, then kidnapped HER and drove her
to Yuma while she begged and pleaded for her life, then begged for the
return of her baby. A history any Scientology staff or customer ought
to be very proud of."

HM, that information should be handed out to all the residences around the org and the house in Phoenix.

The org used to be on central avenue, but moved to Mesa over a decade ago. The building on central was old, run down and decrepit. Also, being in central Phoenix it was in the hood. It was torn down shortly after Scientology's departure. The building out in Mesa was much nicer, even if it didn't have as much space.

I have no idea what is going on out there now since it has been probably a year since I've even driven by.

One thing I am certain of is that they haven't expanded to any significant degree, if at all. Odds are their business has shrunk. It is one thing to peddle destructive bullshit, it's quite another to try and peddle destructive bullshit that you've already bought yourself. It tends to really sap one's effectiveness.

They moved again. Current address per CoS is:

4045 N 7th St., Suite 300
Phoenix, AZ 85014
Tel: 602-954-1417
E-mail: phoenix@scientology.net

Photo at the top of their webpage shows a stucco wall with their sign and only 1 window visible. Looks pretty downstat.

I drove by their offices in PHX at different times of the day and did not see a lot of people doing much of anything. There are other businesses in the building, so I imagine that any cars that were in the parking lot belonged to the staff of those establishments. One is a chiropractor. One one of the side streets, I was able to see inside one of the second floor offices and caught a glimpse of lafayette peering down onto the street. Would love to organize people to walk around the building wearing xenu shirts.

I was at the phx org on Sat. Not actually in mind you, but around and saw very little action going on. The building where they are at houses a chiropractor, a physical therapist, some sort of finance company and has other vacancies. The parking lot was nearly empty. This place is near the vets' hospital in phx, so they will get a letter warning them about these parasites. I did see a guy in a sandwich shop wearing a critic t-shirt, he said he stopped in to get a drink and to let the neighbors know that co$ wants their money. Funny guy for a hungry, quiet critic. Says he married into this madness.

Where is the Hubbard house? Anybody have the address

Except that it isn't LRH's old house. Several years ago, I spent a few hours in the Arizona Reference Room at the main library downtown, and I looked up several addresses from the original phone books. (For reasons that aren't relevant here.) LRH's home was on Osborne, east of 44th Street.

Nibs, by the way, had a place on 3rd Street and McDowell. So he wasn't living at home even then.

So asteroid, are you saying that the cult got this information wrong? That is a laugher.

As I passed the PHX org this morning, I could not help but notice that most of the parking spaces that were taken up were the ones that were reserved for the tenants. I also noticed that on the sandwhich boards, they have written, "Come in and see for your self".

I guess the tech does not teach personal pronouns.
