North Phoenix Mission....

Post by brownjedi » Sat Apr 14, 2007 8:14 pm

I was driving east on Northern the other day headed to the 51 freeway and saw a sign in a shabby little strip mall that read Scientology. The window read North Phoenix Mission and there was a goofball looking guy standing out front. The funny thing is that this strip mall has shops that people do not simply drop by and shop at, people go there when they have something specific to do and I am sure the last thing they have on their mind is clearing the planet with Capt. Nerdboy out front. I guess they are expanding....from the terrible neighborhood where the org is to this shabby little strip mall. Hopefully some landlord is making a buck or two off of these clowns, I just hope that he gets his money up front!

Have any other AZ critics seen this mission? I have been by a few times since I first wrote about this and my original notion that they are barking up the wrong tree in that strip mall remains the same.

I went by the place again a few times this week, never seems to have much going on there. Today at 11:00 it was locked up and nobody was around. I guess maybe they started their Cinco de Mayo celebrating early.

I have pics, but was not able to attach them to this message. Nothing exciting....locked, empty office....good pizza joint next door though.

Still not looking like it is getting too much business....guess they are all in Florida at the moment!

Anybody else been by there?

If you want to e-mail me the pics I can host them on my photobucket page for you to post them. I'd be interested in seeing them. Send me a PM if you want to.

I was just at the north Phoenix Mission and again it was empty, but this time there was a message saying by appointment only. I assume that they do not get many appointments. One of their neighbors in the strip mall said the place is seems abandoned because there is never anything going on.

You should post a sign on the window talking about Xenu.net and see how long it stays up there.

I will go back and ask one of the neighboring businesses if I can post something in their window. The neighbors do not have many good things to say about the culties next door.

"By appointment only?"

Well I can see that all the kerfuffle for all those years handing out flyers, selling books door to door and body routing people into the 'org' we were doing it wrong. All we needed was a sign on the door saying, "By appointment only" and the 'org' would have gone into complete financial solvency and we would have been paid a living wage. Wow! My "needle is floating!"

Imagine how down-stat the guy who works there feels when since appointments are rare there.

I drove by it the other day, its a part of town I am rarely in.

Boy did it look pathetic!

I'd love to park in front of it and start filming....

If you have a digital camera just take a few pics and upload them to photobucket.com and then link to them here. The pics will then show up here in your post(s) for others to see.

Just a suggestion. :)

Philbin, there is a pizza place next door. Put on a critic shirt and let the owner start talking about these culties...I have been by there a number of times and have never, ever seen it open.

I saw this mission listed when I was googling local CoS places and I intended to check it out.

Now that I've got a camcorder and stuff, it might be interesting to make random visits just to see if anything happens there.

Zoe,
They are there only when they have appointments. I have driven by this place at different times, stopped in and talked to the pizza guy a number of times and have never seen it in use.
