Scientology probably wanted the publicity that it is updating something especially since all the stuff about code violations in LA.

Too little, too late OSA.

Paid?? Isn't that what happens after a vendor becomes so disgruntled that they refuse to provide further services and threaten to take legal action?

If anyhting shows how messed up Scientology is, it is the fact that they refuse to pay their bills in a timely manner. Orgs are forced to squirrel away money in the "building fund" and other accounts for DM and his boys rather than pay to keep the power or long distance phone service turned on, or even pay the rent.

I was the treas sec at the Mesa (aka PHX) org and all three of these situations arose when I was there, meanwhile there was something like $50,000 in the BFA alone. For those who don't know, these accounts are nominally owned by the local org, but are controlled by the higher up orgs. According to policy, the local orgs can't touch the money, but the upper level orgs (CLO and up) can do whatever they want with the money. The kicker is that these accounts get "paid" before any bills or staff wages. This is just another method of erecting fictional legal separations between the various scientology corporations. If you want to know what the real power and control structures are, follow the money. This is also what keeps DM and the other people at the top who are milking scientology fat and happy. The lower level orgs don't have to make money for them to be profitable to the higher ups since they take their cut before anyone else.

Ultimately, the org has to run net positive to survive. Its just that staff gets continually screwed and/or vendors I suppose as well.

I fly my little airplane over that place all the time. Maybe I need to install a relief tube and drink a whole bunch of coffee before I go over it again

I think I see him. Either that's a midget, or a golf bag.

Doesn't anyone have any decent pictures of Davey in his private digs? It's just unbelievable that this sort of golf-course-paradise in the middle of the desert hasn't raised some red-flags and news interest. This is what your Scientology dollars buy.

Does anybody have any recent information on GES? My family just moved back to Hemet - my home town - after 4 1/2 years away, and I have been looking for current information on the place. There was a time when you'd drive by and see people inside there all the time, but it's quiet as a tomb now anytime I go through the canyon. I notice they never succeeded in getting Gilman Springs road access cut off from the general public. Good thing!

Anybody have any good ideas as far as educating the cult members and/or public about the cult in this area? I don't picture myself picketing at this time, as I have two small ones at home, but would love to be of help in some way.

Why is picketing at Gold Base prohibited? Are they paid up with the right people or something?

I had roses for three years and apologized to no one...
