San Diego: Applied Scholastics Academy Makes News

Long story short: Jonathon Gerson, OTVIII, is the realtor handling the "sale" of the downtown org.
Besides realty, he also ran the Applied Scholastics Academy in San Marcos, where they leased a cute little Victorian on nice, landscaped grounds. And aside from that, he ran an Events Planning biz, holding wedding parties and suchlike on weekends when school was not in session.

After getting $50,000 in debt, Gerson lost his lease on the cute little Victorian. It came out that he was using wedding party deposits to keep the school open.

While the Ideal Org property is still on the market, the org held a "filing party" a couple weeks ago. I don't know if one has anything to do with the other. Maybe they're just desperately trolling their files for members who've gone dark.

Anyway, San Diego must be pretty disappointed too, that the redevelopment agency that was considering purchase of the 1330 4th Ave. property will not be doing so after all. That building has been "for sale" since 2009. They bought and lost an ideal org building within that time frame.
