Frode has been working hard and developed a feature similar to "Last Day" on the old OCMB. It is currently released as beta. It will be temporarily available for you to test here:

http://ocmb.xenu.net/ocmb/summary-beta1.php

Let us know what you think. When testing over and it has been approved there will be a link on the front page.

I really like that the post subject line and subject description is displayed on the "last day" overview

Good work Frode

That is looking very good!

Two questions:

1 - What does the pulsating icon signify?
2 - What does the little red sphere on an icon signify?

Look. This is an aimportant design issue for Frode.

If the thread title is "Shy David" you DO NOT need to repeat it.
The first words should be the author:

SHY DAVID THREAD:

GALILEO: 'I agree with the..."
UMIKE: "If the book published..."
FLUFFY: "The beginning of my exp.."

SEE? All people want to see is the author and the preview comments
visible.

I like the last day beta very much!

Just a couple of suggestions, it would be nice if there were more of a color differentiation between posts read and unread, also I always liked the #of new posts in the last 24 hrs stat, because then I could allocate my time according to the # of posts I had not read yet.

I really like the feature of # of replies and number of views!

One feature I would really appreciate would to be able to reply to a specific post as opposed to having to reply at the end of a thread to a post that may be 10 or 20 posts back.

Unfortunately, many of the best threads are heavily attacked and/or sidetracked by numerous off topic or ad hominen posts, so if you want to get back to the original post or the on topic posts, you have to hope that your reader will trek back through the muck to see what you are talking about.

IMHO, there is a point where threads go off the rails, and I would like to have the option to reply at that point. The entire thread could still be available, as it is on ars, but the on topic reply would be where you thought it was appropriate instead of at the end of a long string of off topic posts.

I have been lurking and watching and testing for several days, and overall I am very impressed with the new board.

Thank you Andreas and Frode, et al!

All my best, Ladybird

I have no idea why my last post posted twice, and I could not figure out how to erase the duplicate.

Please explain?

Could the colouring be a little more attractive and defined?

ARS has a nice colour scheme.

Ditto what Umike said. I'll just add:

IMO there is no need to be redundant and post the thread title again. Can you do it like it was done before....with the author's name first....then the beginning words of the post. That would give an idea of what the post was about and/or to whom it was addresssed. And leave off "Today".
A "Last Day" feature should clue everyone in that it's "today".

Can the Icon be placed by the first line of the thread title instead of the second? And how about a line to separate the threads?
I like the different color for the quoted words of the author.

For example:

OPINONS AND DEBATE

(ICON # 1) The Price of Enlightenment (Don_Carlo)

indented (Icon # 2) Neil (blue)"Hi DC, How much......10 (posts) 35 (Views) 4:00 p.m.

indented (Icon # 2) UMike (blue) Don_Carlo "$20,000 is the going .....11.....40....6:00 p.m.

________________________________
(Icon #1) Tom Cruise is Nuts (Sarah)

ETC.

I hope that's clearer than mud.
I haven't figured out all the bells, whistles & colors yet.

Thanks all,

I'll try and update the Last Day with all your suggestions (hopefully all done during Sunday). Some of them do not mix, and for those I will leave it up to Andreas to decide.

And I'll suggest we have a second beta to check if you are happy with the updates.

1. Pulsation icon (Image)means "Popular topic" - which is defined as a topic with more than 25 posts.

2. The litle red dot (Image)means You have postet in this topic.

Both icons are used all around on the message board. There are a few more and they are all described at the bottom of all forum pages.

What about the "subject" and "subject description" ...Do we have to type those in?

And:

"eeeeeeeeKKKKkkkkkk!!!#@!!!! Do we have to trek through the muck to reply to or continue a relevant topic???

I think that having to reply at the end of a thread that has been trashed or veered off topic gives an inordinate advantage to OSA bots or freezoners, or illegal PCs being used by OSA to divert real and relevant threads away from scientologys crimes and on to the percieved offences of scientology towards illegal PCs, many of whom still hope they can get up the dead end bridge to total slavery by harvesting names of criticts.

Lucky for them, no matter how many critics they turn in, they will never be allowed on LRHs bridge to insanity, unless they have a whole bunch of money. They will still be offloaded when the bucks run out, just google everybody you know...find out the truth before you give scientology one thin dime, I mean it, don't believe me, look it up. PLEASE???

Best to all, Ladybird

Dear Ladybird,

Please forgive my

Insolence,

But I disagree with you.

One should ONLY be allowed to reply

At the End

Of a thread.

Whether that thread has

Veered into the

A
B
Y
S
S

Or Not!

Otherwise we'd have to be constantly

Scrolling

Up

UP is cool, down I object to.

Would you like me to extrapolate?

Too much up, like 20 posts up to the original topic, is too much IMO.

Just take a look who it is that takes topics off topic. I have done the math...however, everyone has the right to their own opinion.

I would just prefer to answer the posts and posters I can relate to, without having to trek through a bunch of mucky muck from people who still are suckling at LRHs ample rum tits, or are working for OSA in hopes that their illegal PC declare will be lifted so they too can pay 300K to jump off the dead end bridge to total insanity.

Whatever!!!!!!!!!!!! I only have 30years experience, what do I know?

Huh? 30 years experience....as a techie? Are we talking about Scientology, OSA, mean critics or gettng a "Last Day" feature that's helpful and easy to use for the majority? So, who's going off topic here?

I agree with Neil. Posts should appear in the order they are posted......either in ascending or descending order.

If you want to get to the original post, you can scroll up (or down) to it in a flash, can't you? You can also scroll past any post or poster you don't want to read.
