I tried and mastered creating short names for links after the recipe
in the first exampel at http://ocmb.xenu.net/ocmb/faq.php?mode=bbcode#8

But I think I do it wrong!

First I click at the URL tag
then I paste in the webaddress
then I delete the last ]
and in its place I insert a = in front of the web address
I then type a ] after the web address
then I write the link text I want, after the ]
and last I click on URL tag again

xxx

Isn't there a simpler way to do it?

Sarah

Yes, the way the old OCMB did it seemed to be much simpler.

Also....does using the BBCode system allow a reader to get the original URL from the page which is linked to?

In other words, on the old OCMB when the linked page comes up and you click to find the page's URL...all that would come up would be a link to OCMB. So if I wanted to share the post or linked page with a.r.s. or via email, I had to ask for the original URL or try to find the page linked via google.

This also happened when trying to find the URL for threads or posts....I'd get the URL for OCMB front page. This may have been a web tv thing. With the new OCMB, this no longer happens. The URL for the thread shows up.

Thanks,

Tigger

Simple method:
  1. Type in the text.
  2. Mark the text.
  3. Press the URL button.
  4. Type = after URL and paste the link.

Very simple.
