Ladybird, Programmer Guy,
P. G., I think you got it.....By Jove, I think you got it.
No question.....Andreas did a wonderful job in creating OC & hosting OCMB for more than a decade and we owe him many thanks. The statistics I have been posting are not, in any way, to discredit him or anyone else here or this board.
My point is/was.....that "someone" or "some thing", whoever or whatever it may be, intentionally or unintentionally, is on a path to make OCMB "go away".
Can I prove that? No, but considering
1. There are more "registrations" per day than posts.
2. The huge backlog of "registrations" prohibits/prevents/whatever "new" people from "coming on board".
it certainly looks like someone or some thing has found a way to attack this MB, even if they can't post here.
So who's the winner, especially if 60-70 registrations a day continues and prevents any from being "enabled"?
I, for one, would like to know why it's happening, how it's happening, who, if anyone, is behind it and what, if anything, can be done about it.
ESMB and WWP do not seem to have this problem and they have become just as, if not more, popular than OCMB (due, in part, to new people not being able to post on OCMB). Perhaps they have a system in place to immediately address problems before they get too big to handle. It's become too big a job on OCMB for one or even two people to handle.
Plus it's really pissed off a lot of legitimate people who wanted to post here.
I'm basically technically clueless, but is there some tech program that could be installed? If there is or some other way to do it, perhaps the backlog could be dumped and registrations start anew?
Perhaps we, the current posters, could donate a few bucks for such a program, if one exists?
Any other suggestions?
Tigger
