I spent 7 Y E A R S at that AO, on OT 7: It used to be sort of an OT 7
"Camp" as we called it. Back then it was actually quite fun.......not the level, but goofing around with all the OT 7's--eating, Tony Clock and gang doing shows at dinner, just the social end was great.

Then DM arrived, wiped out ALL fun, announced: "The fun is OVER"
Literally his gang ripped things off the walls, and told us all: "We are now
going to look and act Professional, as we're getting in alot of busienss owners". ARGH>The end of the fun.

Then they turned it into an AO, and the rest is history.

All the others I've been at, too, except the new Osceola Hotel. Many of the "OT's" were buying up houses and renting them up, cutting out the Flag Base from $$$--so of course they built that.

Also, I spent one night at the other hotel.....one was enough,
and I was at the opening, the "Grand opening" of the Super Power BS, (This was where they all have the shovels: It was a combo PR and Fundraising deal with all the suckers and their gold shovels: ARGH!).
Also, as well as the destruction of "The Gray Mass Inn" Which used to be there.

I read that the Ft. Harrison had a jail in the basement.

Is this true?

Ah, the famous gaping hole is still there! Why can't they just cover it with a tarpaulin or something?

Not true.

However, in the Ft. Harrison basement are the boilers and many RPF'ers are ordered to buff them, aswell as the floors, with toothbrushes.

Back in '98 or 99 there was a big deal about transplanting a 100+ year old oak tree to make way for the SP building. They claimed to spend a $1mill doing it, putting in special nutrient pipes, 60 ton root ball etc. Said it was the biggest tree anyone in the world ever tried to move.

Did it survive? And if so is it visible in any of these shots?

I looked on Google Earth, can't tell which it is.

I've heard that Downtown Clearwater was a much nicer and cleaner place before the Church of Scientology came. I went down there once for the first time and I thought the place was dirty and grimey, and had to much polution. I mean I've been to NYC, and it wasn't that bad, like Downtown Clearwater is.
