Eyes Wide Shut is a masterpeice for lots of people, you got to respect that.
Here it's a 'legend' movie; remember you didn't saw the real movie in USA because of the rating, they put CGI in front of the naked bodies having sex.

It's more an european movie, not for american really. Kubrick was british after all. The mood, the timing, the frame...

Tom was at his best and I was surprised and loved him in EWS, many say the intensity he got just with his eyes, when he is followed in the street is perfect and you have the chills! (well, I did, at last for the last one).

He is the one who manage the best to have some interaction with Kidman, and God know it's mission:impossible.
She's well know to be cold and don't have chemistry with her partners (see with Sean penn in The interpreter, and Just Law in Cold Mountain, nicole herself = the cold moutain hehe)
She act alone; Like Les Cahiers said: the best scene metaphore to resume her acting carrer is when she is watching herself and making love with herself in front of the mirror in EWS.

EWS was a slow plodding movie. That tried to be deep and missed miseribly.
It tried to make something completely mysterious out of a well staged sex party. Nothing in it is shocking or edgy.
Her big secret is that she thought about having sex with a guy she saw while eating.
A little suspence would of been nice.
