Updating the book lists

Post by admin » Thu Nov 04, 2010 8:01 am

These two pages need updates, lack all the new books:

Anybody got time to list the missing titles?

This shouldnt be too diffcult.
Search Google Books on scientology and related subjects
Search Amazon.com too.
Also, if they are willing, use the expertise of well read researchers on here such as Caroline Letkeman to find some of the less obvious titles, as well as adding their own reviews.

This is a great idea, and I hope everyone participates. I recently read The Paranoia Switch How Terror Rewires Our Brains and Reshapes Our Behavior--And How We Can Reclaim Our Courage by Dr. Martha Stout (2007).

I'd recommend this book first for Dr. Stout's description and insights about our brains' limbic systems, and how violence and psychological trauma can affect people afterwards, sometimes for a long time. Near the beginning, she provides a self-test to gauge anxiety levels, and gives some general advice.

Dr. Stout writes that "though domestic abuse is not the central topic of this book, we can use the small social system of a highly dysfunctional couple to help explain the strange human allegiance to destructive authoritarians in general." I think it's appropriate to analyze what she writes about in the context of Scientology's various abuses, and its destructive authoritarian leaders.

Dr. Stout's Chapter 5 The Limbic Wars will undoubtedly resonate with Scientologists who survived DM's 9/11 "Wake-Up Call" and his protracted, physically and emotionally violent war. (Ref.: IGN 44R 11 September 2001 Wake-Up Call)

1. Group trauma.
A limbic war occurs after some form of national catastrophe. Most typically, this event is a war, or a single attack that is abrupt and brutal enough to generate nationwide fear. [...]

2. Fear Broker(s)
In Stage 2, one person or a handful of people use the public's fear to pursue a private agenda. [...] Authoritarian fear brokers remind us, frequently and dramatically, of how much danger we are in, whether or not the remaining threat is significant or even real. This technique works well for power-hungry authoritarians. When a paranoia switch is pushed over and over, people are retraumatized--they are terrified all over again--and very frightened people tend to be drawn to an authoritarian personality, to someone who insists on making all their decisions for them, and who never admits mistakes. [...]

3. Scapegoatism
The fear-promoting leader can further heighten the population's anxiety and paranoia by contending that another group or race of people is to be blamed for the crisis. [...]

4. Cultural Regression
When there is a definite idea of whom to blame, the primitive lust for revenge can crystallize around it.[...]

5. Recognition and Backlash [...]

6. Regret and Forgetting [...]

Stout, M. (2007). The paranoia switch: How terror rewires our brains and reshapes our behavior--and how we can reclaim our courage. New York: Farrar, Straus and Giroux.
Purpose: To train the student to give a false statement with good TR-1. To train the student to outflow false data effectively.
Commands: Part l “Tell me a lie”.

P.S. My original motivation behind creating these pdfs was actually following the Scientology Doubt Formula. Step 3 of The Doubt Formula states:
Decide on the basis of 'the greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics' whether or not it should be attacked, harmed or suppressed or helped.

This led me to my conclusion that Scientology should be attacked, harmed and suppressed.

This action helped me to free myself from Scientology completely. See, Scientology works ;-) LOL !
