Hi Alan, My name is Chuck Beatty. I was a course sup at Flag in 1977 or 78 when you were FSO public and possibly getting some ordered auditing or paid Flag auditing, not sure about that. Me and the black supervisor, my boss, Al Baker, supervised you for a short time, inbetween your sessions (if you were getting sessions, think so, but not positive). You were the ex-Sea Org officer and then Flag public, hanging out between sessions on some sort of auditing you were getting at that time, is what I recall. This must have been 77, 10th floor ballroom, you sat facing the back stairway to the 11th floor, you sat near the center walkway down the ballroom floor, you had your white bush shorts and short sleaves white bush jacket on. You were blabbing about some auditing wins one moment, and gave me the excuse you couldn't study or concentrate, and were chuckling a lot (were you getting an L at that time?). I thank you for the above general advice, glad you been/there---done/that on about everything written in the tech vols, etc. I respect anyone who has NOT been silenced by Hubbard's worst directive rules that have so harmfully effected and still harm several generations we both agree I think. I respect all former Sea Org and Scientologists who rose above the rules and now speak out, saying whatever the hell they wish. You're in a whole different league of Scientology movement participant. I am happy to be able to talk with you. While I don't support any "tech", I do respect the kindness and decency of ANY human being trying to help another out, and I am sure you personally would not be succeding unless you personally genuinely as a person wished well for others. I think it all comes down to what people wish for their fellows, and actually doing something helpful. Being a longtime staffer (1975-2003) in the Sea Org, having met you briefly as your supervisor, and then having as a Flag staffer in the years after 81, heard all the black PR material spread on you for decades thereafter, and having myself spread my own black PR on you, for which I am sorry and wish to directly now apologize to you for. I just wanted to communicate and thank you for being a part of the Hubbard Scientology history, sharing your views and having the integrity to not be silenced by Hubbard's worst opinions turned into the harmfully recoiling policies the official church is saddled with today. I've heard good things about you from kind- hearted Free Zone people who I got no beef with. I got no beef with anyone who acts decently and in general treats their fellow man well. I think the basic good characteristics mankind out in the regular world has agreed upon are good, I think those "stable data" undercut Hubbard's works. People need to get out, see the world has better ideas and I think people have the goddamn right to speak their minds about anything they wish. Better to fumble around and learn oneself, even if it means making an occasional fool of oneself by spouting dumb ideas oneself, rather than sink into the complacent role of a movement member who just adopts one man's ideas without question, especially when one swallows untold amounts of seriously wrong principles out of step with humanity's been/there--done/that far wiser wisdom. Hubbard's world, once entered, eliminates due to LRH's voluminous preemptive writings, wiser human principles that Hubbard failed to see. Decency, honesty, operating reasonably (not the 1984 Hubbard redefinition of "reasonable" but the regular world respected connotation), are senior, in my opinion, to the all- consuming detailed activities Hubbard got his faithful to buy into to the exclusion of these aobve principles. Hubbard is the ultimate who, it isn't just DM, but DM has been one nasty bad influence tanking the movement more than Hubbard. But it's Hubbard's worst ideas and LRH's own personal Sea Org heavy ethics behavior that serves as DM's justification for DM's own disgraceful behavior. St. Pete Times said this is so many words. The intelligent people in the world know what is going on. Glad I have been able to speak to you here. Glad this whole platform exists for former members to come out, and exchange their views freely.
