The latest topic of interest with the media and public is Scientology's disconnection activities, especially since Karin Pouw has denied the CofS practices this and in light of Jenna Miscavige Hill's rebuttal and the latest media flurry on the topic (and continued journalistic interest).

My friend has created a new website specifically for disconnection stories (http://www.scientologydisconnection.com/) in the same manner as the "Through the Door" website (http://alley.ethercat.com/door/index.html) -- simply a collection point for stories with no editorial comments. The stories stand on their own merits and paint the picture of reality.

The website says "This website is published for educational purposes and journalistic interests."

I personally vouch for the person who made this website. It's newly up (last few days) and already has a few stories on it.

I think it's a good idea. I'll be submitting my own stories soon.

Beautiful, Seahorse. I hope it has html pages as well as cgi, else it will not be at all searchable on search engines. Unfortunately ethercat's site has this problem.

We were just having this discussion btw regarding setting up a new group called Families Against Scientology Disconnection

Yes, all pages are HTML and searchable.

The script is only used to collect the stories.

The story of Sharone Staniforth is just heartbreaking.

This is a great idea. There are so many stories out could be added (unfortunately). People just need to know about it. I'll put it in my signature...maybe that will help (on some boards people's signatures get picked up when Google crawls the board).

Thanks for putting it in your sig line. That's a big help to getting the word out.

Yes, there's a lot of stories around the internet. My friend is wanting people to submit their stories to the website rather than having her go around the net and pick up stories and re-publish them. So if any of you out there have stories you already wrote, maybe you can copy them from wherever they are and paste them into the www.scientologydisconnection.com "tell us your story" link.

And if anyone has any suggestions about the website, please write back here (on OCMB and I'll relay the message) or use the "contact" link on www.scientologydisconnection.com.

The website says:
Quote:
The purpose of this website is to collect and publish personal accounts of Scientology disconnection, such as:
    children and parents being separated,
spouses or lovers being broken up,
"friends" dropping friends at the request of a staff member of the Church of Scientology,
and business relationships being disrupted (including firing).
The stories on this website will stand alone as expert witness and personal testimony to the Church of Scientology disrupting relationships.

Spokespeople for the Church of Scientology have repeatedly denied that it enforces its members to disconnect from others. I'll let the reader determine for himself or herself if this is true or not.

Suggestions were made, changes are done. New article written: http://www.scientologydisconnection.com/analysis.html

"My Analysis: How the Church of Scientology "explains away" the Subject of Disconnection"

It starts out:
Quote:
When a spokesperson for the Church of Scientology "says" that they don't practice "enforced disconnection" he or she proceeds to quote published Church of Scientology references which are used when a Scientology member is having trouble with someone in their life. They neglect to inform the press or reader that there are other instances when "enforced disconnection" is indeed practiced vehemently.

You should definitely read the whole article. Excellent!

My friend made some changes to the website ScientologyDisconnection.com where you can write letters to your "Loved Ones" and they can contact you back via the website (using an anonymous remailer).

If you would like to reach out to someone who might find you online, but who is forbidden to contact you directly, then you can pass on a message to them. Maybe some day they'll read it and contact you.

Or you can leave your letter there for the day when they "get out" of the Church of Scientology and are able to contact you (but they lost contact info in the meantime).
