Well, Blondie, the fact that you so vigorously oppose the notion that "When people can fully trust each other, there will finally be peace on
earth" speaks volumes.

I'm not a Buddhist but I can still read a quote from the Dali Lama and not become violently ill. Further, I can acknowledge that a quote is valid even though I might not care for the larger issues surrounding it. But when I posed that question to you, you could not see past the fact that L.R.H. said it.

I find the criticism of this activity in Hollywood to be totally absurd, cynical and baseless. This is such a benign activity, I just don't understand why you oppose it. The only reason I can come up with is pure bigotry against Scientology in general. And that's why I asked if you would similarly oppose another church undertaking such an activity.

Other religions attribute their displayed quotations to the Bible, considered to be the word of God. LRH was no god. The banner smacks of arrogance and could have been omitted, if the event were purely a community "gift."

I did not oppose the quote nor its notion nor even the fact the L. Blob said it. I opposed the GREAT, BIG BANNER proclaiming it was blob who said it and the GREAT, BIG BANNER saying "Look at us-we're scienos and we're doing such a good thing"

You keep trying and trying to make me look like a bigot and you are failing and failing. I have never said anything hateful to you and I have never done anything here to show I have a hateful way of thinking, as you said above.

You apparently think I hate all scienos simply because I am here and because I don't like you personally. Let me remind you, I was in your church for many years and still have friends in there. I have never said anything to them to make them disconnect from me and don't intend to.

Where, exactly, do you get the idea that because I don't like a GREAT, BIG BANNER proclaiming the words of a fat man (an opinion I am entitled to) that I am a religious bigot? You, E.J., are the narrow minded, hateful person here. You have called people on this board names and lumped them all into a group that is in a big conspiracy against you. You don't get that the only thing that brings us together is this board. We don't have secret meetings somewhere, aside from those who know one another and meet to plan their pickets to my knowledge, and we do not support activities against your church as a group.

You said in another thread that we love our conspiracy theories. You should look in the mirror.

So, you're saying a quote from Buddha (who was fat, I believe) would also be 'evil' if it were on a 'large' banner. That's an interesting stance to take, but I guess everyone's got an opinion.

I take a more tolerant view of things. When the Hare Krishna hold their big parade and throw flowers and play music, I don't assume it's 'evil'. I'm not a Krishna, mind you. But I somehow manage to see past that and enjoy their parade anyway. I'm not threatened by the fact that I don't agree with their religion - nor do I advocate that they should be stopped from having their parade.

Religious freedom is a tough one for you to understand, I guess.

Blondie should have said "as an organized group with meetings, phone calls, and leaders."

The message board is like a bulletin board. People try to find other people for pickets. Other people ask questions. Some mock, some spill their guts. But we're not organized in the real world. We mostly don't know each other's name, occupation, city, or phone number. Andreas has never asked me for money, and I've never given any.

I understand that you have probably been trained to misdirect people so that you don't have to answer questions, but it's just as easy for me, or anyone else, to use these same techniques to demand an answer.

Magdelen, I've looked at those autopsy photos. They're unsettling. Of course, I doubt most autopsy photos are nice happy affairs. Are you sure those are cockroach bites, though? Have you *ever* been bitten by a cockroach?

So now you claim you don't know that they were determined to be insect bites by the medical examiner, EJ? And who cares what kind of insect bites they were? This poor woman was left too weak to even fend off insects, and clearly none of her "caretakers" prevented this atrocity. This is torture in my book, whether willful or simply out of a robotic lack of critical thinking. And where does this buck stop? The wonderful lrh, who is depicted from the banner as a lover of mankind.

Just to clarify, EJ: I believe there are good people who are caught up in the cos; there are those who want to do good things. The problem is when some community party is thrown, it promotes an organization that is criminal. Since you refuse to look at its criminal and inhumane policies, you will call me a religious bigot. That is the easy way out! Also please note that I don't say all scientologists are criminal or inhumane- I distinguish between the individuals and the organization.

My church does things without proclaiming in a GREAT, BIG BANNER that it was they who did it.

Yeah, E.J., I'm saying I don't support these activities. I do not participate, funnel money, give money openly or in secret. I do not picket or write letters or even say Hooray when they post about their successful pickets. It is not my thing. I post to this board and if anyone asks my opinion of scieno, I tell them. That is about the extent of my activities concerning being a critic.
