That's GREAT.......and brave. Do you go by yourself? Has the COS ever called the police to complain about your interupting a "religious" demonstration (ha ha) or anything.
When I attened the 1992 CAN CONFERENCE in Los Angeles, I was alone when I came out of my hotel room. In front of the elevator was a little table. Three people were standing there, looking at some papers on the table and talking. They shut up when they saw me and covered up the papers.
Being the curious cat I am, I stopped and asked if they were attending the CAn Conference. I was told this was a private conversation. I replied if they were asttending the Confernc, perhaps they should speak downstairs in the Conference Area (which had security police). All three said it was none of my business.
Being convinced it was two scientologists, who were trying to "persuade" a former COS member to leave the Conference and return to the fold, I alerted some CAN people when I arrived downstairs in the Conference area.
I sat in a chair in front of the elevators while they rounded up a couple more people to go upstairs. While sitting there, I saw Andrew Bagley, the COS "reverend" about whom Paulette Cooper wrote a chilling story in her book, get on the elevator. A few minutes later, Security got on the elevator to check it out. They found nothing.
Andrew Bagley was not registered at the hotel.........I think he sounded the alarm. In the previous months, I had had some communication with Bagley (telephone, letters) concerning Narconon Chilocco in Oklahoma. At the Conference I had asked someone to point him out to me. No doubt he also had me pegged too. After seeing me talking and gestering with CAN members and Security immediately afer getting off the elevator, I think Bagley sounded the alarm and the scienos (maybe all three were scienos, plotting battle plans) headed for the stairs and disappeared.
We had been told to travel in twos outside the Conference area, but being an independent soul, I didn't think it was necessary. At that Conference, I also walked out to the front by the highay where about 15 or so scienos were picketing and holding up signs about the "evil" CAN. I walked the line, read the signs and just before leaving said in a sweet voice, "Gee I hope you guys are wearing sunscreen." They said not a word, but if stares could kill, I would be dead.
Another time at the LA Conference, I got on an elevator alone. Several people got on after me, including a couple with a cute baby. I started talking to the baby and said how cute it was. Thinking they might be attending the Conference, I asked. LOL, all of them, even the couple with the baby, were scientologists.
Tigger, the fool who sometimers rushes in where angels fear to tread.
