The rest are obviously not that into it or too poor and donated the kind of amounts that they would have spent if they'd done something more enjoyable that evening like having a good time in the pub or a nice meal in a restaurant instead.

Stephen calls the state of Clear “enlightenment”. Nothing could be higher than enlightenment by definition. And yet there are OT levels above the Clear. The only way to proceed beyond the enlightenment is to reach the state of anti-enlightenment or Absolute Stupidity.

It is extremely sad. This guy appears to be going through some diffculties and seems somewhat confused, yet the cult takes advantage of him.
