Visit to Jonestown Memorial & Flash Raid at SF Org..

Post by Smurf » Mon May 07, 2012 2:09 am

I've just returned from an amazing, wonderful & incredible weekend spent with the San Francisco Anons. Huge kudos to skeptic2girl for hosting this weekends raids. The SF anons are just f*cking awesome. Out-of-town visitors included Anon Sparrow, Tory, Casper, and myself.

On Friday, before meeting up with the others for a flash raid at the Org, I took the opportunity to visit the new Jonestown Memorial in Oakland, CA, where 412 unclaimed members of the Jonestown massacre, many of them children, are buried. The Memorial was one of two proposals submitted by two different camps of Jonestown survivors, their loved ones, and supporters. The first camp wanted large granite columns to be installed with the names of those that perished in the massacre.

The second camp wanted a more subdued memorial which would list the Rev. Jim Jones (who ordered the massacre) as a victim like everyone else that died in Jonestown. The second camp's proposal won, largely because the cemetery's owners said the grounds could not support standing granite columns. The inclusion of the Rev. Jim Jones as a victim of the very tragedy that he personally planned for & ordered to be carried out, has upset alot of Jonetown survivors & their families.

On the day I was there, it was apparent that someone had defaced the memorial & tried to remove Jim Jones from the granite.

Following my visit, I met up with skeptic2girl & Anon Sparrow at the (largely empty) San Francisco Org. Several other anons arrived shortly after.

On Saturday, a large crowd came out for the Cinco de Mayo Megaraid.

You guys were so much FUN, Smurf! And you caused the maximum amount of Enturbulation -- which was incredible. I was so very happy that you all could come up. It made it so very special. <3

Here are two vids. Thanks to SF Scilon Bill's inability to share, I eventually had to wander through Chinatown in search of (more) sunscreen...

SFPD initially appeared to be a jerk, but turned out to be awesome and shone a little light on the police's experiences with the cult:

It was pretty funny -- because as the sweat began to run down my face not from the sun but from the police sergeant grilling me, Tommy Gorman and Tory came to the rescue.

I said, "He wants to know why they called they police..."

And Tory kind of took over and said, "I'LL tell you why they call the police! I was in the cult for 30 years..."

Although she doesn't mention that particular incident, she did make a video where she talked about going to SF.

to Tory, Smurf, Casper, Sparrow, and all of the locals who turned out. It was amazing!

Sgt. Catanzaro was a class act with a sense of humor. Next time the SF Anons protest & the Scilons cause the cops, you should reference your conversation with Sgt. Catanzaro & tell the cops to speak to him.

He has a reputation for De-escalating situations.

Great to see Sparrow back in action. He should move to SF permanently! :)

Smurf, I watched your vid on Jonestown Memorial today and thought it was really interesting/informative.

Also watched your HGB vid and was shocked at what a fat porker Franck is becomming - dude also seemed really grumpy! LOL!

Here's Bill, who seems to volunteer for OSA (he came to the Janet Reitman event at the JCC to secretly record the event and harass the author). He is a handler at cult events and frequently comes out to take pictures.

Usually he's silent as a mouse, but he was more chatty on megaraid day.

He was very polite & talkative, which is a good thing. He didn't appreciate my licking his camera lens, though.
