Post by admin » Wed Oct 24, 2012 7:26 pm

Looking for info on Robert Duggan and his connection to the cult. Anything significant, any formal role beside large donor, still active, level OT?

For the media, send to me. Thanks!

Take care.

Bob Duggan trained Reed Slatkin in investments; Reed went to prison for his massive Ponzi scheme.
"In about 1979-1980, Slatkin met Robert F. Duggan, a fellow Scientologist, who Slatkin describes as 'a successful professional investor, primarily in the stock market,'" states Mr. Neilson in a recent trustee's report. Mr. Duggan provided rudimentary investment training to Mr. Slatkin, who had no prior formal training in either investments or money management. "During this period, Duggan began to teach Slatkin about the stock market and the process of analyzing companies as potential investments."

According to Stockwatch records, Mr. Duggan arrived on Howe Street around the same time as fellow Scientologist Mr. Baybak, who remains an active player in the market. Both invested in a private placement financing of immigrant-investor-fund promoter Steven Funk's First Generation Resources Ltd. in August, 1985, along with budding penny stock promoter and former drug peddler Robert Friedland. (Earlier that year, in March, Mr. Baybak invested in Mr. Friedland's then flagship Galactic Resources Ltd., which later left U.S. taxpayers paying most of the tab for the massive cyanide pollution Superfund clean up at its disastrous Summitville mine in Colorado.)

Mr. Duggan and Mr. Baybak also concurrently invested in two other Howe Street promotions in 1986: Trian Equities Ltd. that February and Medallion Books Ltd. that December. Scientologist Mr. Duggan served a stint on Trian's board.

Mr. Friedland participated in the same Medallion financing, along with Vancouver businessman Grant Woodward "Woodie" MacLaren, who also joined the boards of Mr. Funk's First Generation and Medallion. (There is no suggestion that Mr. Funk, Mr. Friedland or Mr. MacLaren, the former chief executive of Woodward's Stores Ltd., the now defunct Western Canadian department store chain, had any dabblings in Scientology.)

After his introduction and training by Mr. Duggan, Mr. Slatkin soon became immersed in the market.

BOB and Trish Duggan have donated minimally $15, million dollars to Miscavige's coffers. He has been listed as one of the topmost IAS donors. This figure comes from an IAS Publication called IMPACT.

Lord only knows how much he has given to Super Power, Freewinds, FSO for Ls and so on.

Bob and Trish were good friends of Heber and myself in early days where we spent many a day off at their residence in Hope Ranch Santa Barbara.

Trish mainly lives in Clearwater with the younger boys. David is over 18 and lives in Dunedin. Both he Danny and Dylan post frequently on Facebook. David was sent away to school during his high school years - I think somewhere in Washington. The younger boys went to a charter school (non scientology) for elementary school but then were moved to a private school (non scientology) for middle school. The youngest seems to be *touched*, possible fetal alcohol syndrome. And what a wild tale has been told as to how they came about adopting him after his bizarre abandonment. For years the boys had the run of Ft. Harrison, games, run of the kitchen, etc. for themselves and their friends.

For a long time a place was rented for the brood and their mannies but approximately two years ago they bought a house out on the beach.

Thanks for that, Clearwater mom. What a strange upbringing. It sounds like the kids were brought up in a strange cocoon, and the parents are equally shielded from reality by the butt-kissers.

This is for investors about Robert "Bob" Duggan's company Pharmacyclics that has a 975 million drug development deal with Janssen/Johnson & Johnson:

Why biotech?

The biotechnology arena is a very promising one for investors because of our planet's growing and aging population, which will require more medical care over time. It's not without risks, though, as many new treatments are costly to develop and don't always clear FDA hurdles.

More than a handful of biotechnology companies had strong performances over the past year. Pharmacyclics (NASDAQ: PCYC ) , for instance, has nearly quadrupled in value over the past year. The company has a very promising cancer-fighting drug, ibrutinib, and other possibilities in its pipeline. It has been issuing more shares and diluting the value of existing shares, but it also has a lot of potential, if tests turn out well.

Part of the Pharmacyclics team includes, from left, EVP Alliances & Operations Maria Fardis, CEO Robert Duggan, Chief Medical Officer Lori Kunkel and Chief Operating Officer Maky Zanganeh. The company allied with a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson Services Inc. to market its anti-cancer drug.

This is about a Scientologist partner in Duggan's company:
Image
Rainer (Ramses) Erdtmann - Vice President, Finance & Administration
Mr. Erdtmann began his career in Europe as an investment banker. He was accepted into the Investment Banking Program of Commerzbank in Germany after he graduated with distinction from the Westfaelische Wilhelms Universitaet in Muenster, majoring in Financing and Banking. He was later recruited by the asset management arm of Commerzbank and became a portfolio manager for international clients. The portfolio assets under management exceeded $1Billion Dollars. In 1994 he co- founded a German-based real estate company, United Properties Immobilien & Anlagen GmbH, which to date has successfully developed over 30 different projects and manages a portfolio of over 250 units. His main area of responsibility has been setting up the organization and overseeing the financial aspects of its operations. Mr. Erdtmann came to the US in the mid- nineties to manage the assets for a US equity pool and several European investors. He became actively involved in some of the holding companies and served on several of their boards. Building on his European network, he has since consulted high net-worth individuals and closed-end funds, and actively advised in the selection of US investments for over $500 Million. Furthermore he finalized over $120 Million of equity and debt transactions for private equity partnerships.

Sounds very KSW.

Does anyone have a photograph of the alleged fetal-alcohol-syndrome son?

If this is Dante I looked at his Facebook page but saw no-one who looked particularly 'touched' or typical of FAS.

Also, pure curiosity, what is the story of his abandonment and adoption?
