All good points Clamdigrr. However, I bet you an hour of auditing that the filthy $500,000 is returned. That is poison money come November. Who wants to tell voters that they kept Mark Foley's money?

Give me one instance where Scientology has ever voluntarily returned a substantial sum of money.

Shouldn't be hard.

C'mon. Just one....

Let's see, umike and his brother both got substantial refunds of their donations. Aren't there a number of exes here who have boasted about having gotten refunds from CoS too?
Are you going to tell me that the church does not give refunds voluntarily? Why pretend that, when it is church policy to give refunds of donations for auditing and training to those who are dissatisfied?

To the best of my knowledge, Scientology is obliged, under the terms of the agreement with the IRS, to return "donations" to anyone who asks for a refund.

Nothing voluntary about it at all.

SuzanneMarie, what is it about the word 'voluntary' you don't understand? You are confused because you went past a misunderstood word. Now go back and read it from the beginning.

Tsar,

The Scientology refunds policy predates the IRS agreement by many years. I recall hearing of people who got CoS refunds back in the 1970's.
If you are claiming that some outside agency is forcing CoS to give refunds involuntarily, then you are mistaken.

So how,

is Mr Foleys love of the same sex anyway Scientology influenced?

M.Foley is not a Scientologist. Possibly a social climber and a homosexual. The Church may have seen a good opportunity to create good relations with their environment by courting local politicians. What were the ages of these boy's? For it to be pedophilia here the boy's would have to be under age 16. In some European countries it's 14 down. I assume it's 21 down in the USA?

Regardless, this thread is in the same vein as 'Was L.Ron Hubbard sexually molested as a child'. Simply scandal. Maybe it could be sold to the National Enquirer.

Marylsfan stated somewhere on the forum that sexual molestation is rife in society. This is true, it is not a problem exclusive to any one group. Scientology ethics is an attempt to restrain one from comitting such acts until it can be handled with processing (a person of good dignity will stick to these ethics codes).

So, what were we discussing?

Seems it's not ok for the Scientologist to DA, yet Swifty can do it with impunity.

Suzanne Marie,
You are mistaken. Many people have experienced difficulties getting their money back from Scientology. Far from Scientology returning the money voluntarily, people have found getting money out of Scientology harder than extracting rhinoceros teeth. This was certainly the case before the IRS settlement.

Dear reader,

Did you ever try to get your money back from the "church" of Scientology? Or didn't you even start trying because you think you'll never manage?

If that's the case you're definitely not the only one. Probably we can be at your service.

Who we are, you wonder? We are a group of ex-"churchies" with, meanwhile, quite a lot of experience with the "refund"-policies of Scientology.

In short we operate this way. The 'org' in question gets a registered letter with the (financial) demands including the moment the payment is expected. When no reaction is received a second registered letter will follow which contains the message that collecting the money will be handed over to an international collecting agency, and, that they are kept accountable for all extra costs. When the 'org' still doesn't react or pay, all necessary juridical steps will be taken.

This way we managed to collect 1 000 000 euro last year.

Our e-mail address is: scientologypayback@yahoo.com

With kind regards,

The Scientology PayBack Team.

This is from the Demand your money back from Scientology link from xenu.net's front page, so I believe that the site is bona fide, and the stories they relate of Scientology not returning funds voluntarily are credible.

Tsar,

Yes, I have also heard of people complaining because they did not get back the full amount of their donation.

There is a specific policy relating to refund of donations; I believe there's a time limit on it, and you can't get refunds for books and packs that you paid for.

Maybe some of the complainers were not eligible for refunds under that policy.

Anyway, we're way off topic here. Back to "Pervs on Parade."

You may have a long wait there.....

...I am still waiting for someone to answer my feelings on how Scientology is responsible for Mark Foley's sexual deviation- despite the fact he has only attended a social bash and allegedly purchased a car off a secretive member.

Well duh!

Foley is a bad man. All Scientologists are bad. Foley is a Scientologist.

I know this is really highbrow complicated thinking, but if you are going to fit in around here you'll just have to learn fast.

I hope I've helped.

p.s. Still waiting.......

That's right! Listen to Itsaline and fall in line with the "correct thinking" around here or else you'd be accused of being OSA or a Clam.

God forbid you speak your mind and give an opinion other than what the powers to be around here think.

We want to make sure you Leave YOUR cult (Scn) and join our cult

Damn right!!!

You simply must be in a cult.

Scientology is a bad BAD cult, but the "Cult of Critic" is a super dooper cult. You get to use all the same group think and name calling without any personal responsibility. You get to invent wild theories and bash anyone who dares to disagree. You even get to yell "OSA!" at them.

You don't need to be accurate, or even make sense, but you must be sensational, that is a pre requisite.

Ohhh, the other benefit is that you can belittle anyone who attempts to refute your made up garbage. That is probably the funnest thing of all.

You don't need to know much about scientology at all. In fact it's probably better that you get all your info from the MB here because facts only confuse things.

The only rule is that you are to have no empathy for Scientologists who are desperate for accurate information. We don't really want Scientologists to leave because if they did, we've have no one left to hate.

Interested???

I seriously doubt that Foley is a $cieno. He just liked to hobnob with the Hollywood celebrities and the CoS has alot of them.
