Well, there's Highbrow Culture, there's Lowbrow Culture, and
then there's Cult Culture. Scientology seems to set the standard for
cult culture. Scientology, the very definition of Kitsch. Kitsch
so unabashedly displayed to where it becomes a cult if its own.
A subcult of the cult. Its graphics, its "promo", its "jewelery"
produced by people with no taste to appeal to those with bad taste.

> "somewhere" in the world*

Oooh, sign me up! And by "sign me up" I mean RUN AWAY SCREAMING!

Seriously, don't they know that even a Scientologist would see that sentence with the quotes and the asterisk, and know it's probably not an all-expense paid trip to somewhere great?

I think the two Phoenix ads are "off policy." If someone reading this has a copy of "Seven Points of an Ad," please, post it in this thread.

As well, I don't know what the laws are on Arizona's books regarding raffles but it looks like the one being advertised isn't licensed. Maybe in Arizona that's OK.

That Christmas Rat seems to be saying, "A good deal? From a Scientologist??? Please..." Listen to the Christmas Rat!

Sponge, that video was NOTHING like what Scientology offers. The POW's get Porridge! That, and the inmates know leaving is a good thing!

Also... overheard at the PALLOOOOOZA!!!!

"Ooh, Coach Bag! I'll buy one!"

"That'll be $400USD. What are you doing spending $400 on a Coach bag when the planet needs to be saved? No bag for you! We'll be taking that money as an IAS donation, and report to Ethics before 2pm on Thursday!"

They misspelled Palooza.

Palooza:

"The art of throwing a very drunken extravagent party with a plethora of friends. Whoever is throwing the palooza usually adds their name as a prefix to the word. Paloozas are usually held on Wednesday."

Maybe the Scilons are turning around after all...

Quite ironic that $cientology would use the word "Christmas" in one of their advertisements, since L. Ron very specifically stated that there was no Christ and that the belief was due to an implant of Christ on the cross that we all received. Hey, I guess they're trying to restimulate us in order to make a sale... but of course that's okay, since it is the "greatest good for the greatest number of dynamics."

The "Christmas engram" begins for the Scientologists... when they "go PTS" to their families and the season in general as their "Xenu implants" kick in, when cult holiday catalogs with special course packages dance in their heads, and when, at least there's this, their RPF elementals lose the sleep and Christ knows how many days on their RPF programs, setting up and setting down their reg parties.

I'm thinking that Scientologists with half a clue and maybe at least a bit of heart should boycott Scientology's parties this year, and put some shame on the ones who show up.

Janice Wheeler, one of the most flourishing, prospering and successful Scientologists in Canada, was found guilty in 1992 of infiltrating the Attorney General's office.

Globe and Mail 12 September 1992 wrote:
The church was fined $150,000 in connection with infiltration of the Attorney-General's Ministry in 1974 and 1975 during which Scientologist Janice Wheeler sent copies of some secret documents to the Guardian's Office and allowed a member of the office to go through ministry files in an unsuccessful attempt to find a file on Scientology.

I've noticed that the Int Mgmt New Year's Events are getting closer and closer to Christmas so as to overshadow it entirely. Christmas doesn't exist for the Scientologist.
