The Nat'l Enquirer reports in this week's issue that Valerie Bertinelli is the new face of Jenny Craig due to Kirstie's ballooning weight.

People inside the Kirstie camp told the NI that Kirstie was traumatized on the set of Cheers when she was constantly told that she was too fat. "She was mortified and never completely healed from that insult," said the source.

But wait! That is A=A=A!!! That is the Reactive Mind at work! How could a comment about her weight in 1993 cause Kirstie to gain weight in PT? Kirstie is not even supposed to have a reactive mind. That was gone when she attested clear. Kirstie Alley is a vaunted New OT VII. The source of Kirstie's weight gain must not be middle age spread, but rather BT's. Or in Kirstie's case, a big ol' cluster of mental mass and CT's parked on her hips and backside. LRH taught that mental mass can add as much as 30 pounds to a person per scientific tests, so we must have a change of space pro-cess going on here.

Too bad that Scientology can't do liposuction because it sure sucks at everything else!!! I guess all that Kirstie can do is to tap her ruby red slippers together and summon the good witch John Travolta for help!

Can’t help but note that she’s wearing a cross. And yet she’s at a level in Scientology where she’s learned Father L. Ron’s teaching that all religions are just Xenu implants. Yet knowing this, she wears a cross out in public.

This makes her little more than a walking perpetuation of a con. Correction, she is a waddling perpetuation of a con.

For what it's worth here's my advice to anyone who is overweight and wants to do something about it.

Step one: Talk to your family doctor about it.

Step two: Do what your family doctor tells you to do (even if he or she doesn't put it in writing.)

That's my advice.

What? You say you're in scientology and don't have a family doctor. You need to change that don't you?

If that is a real picture of Kirstie Alley and not photo-shopped then she is at the lower end of being morbidly obese and needs to get medical assistance with her weight. This is not a put down but an expression of concern for her health.

I have noticed Valerie Bertinelli (former wife of Eddie Van Halen) in the current running commercials.

Are they slowly positioning Valerie as a replacement? This was what I wondered as I have watched the commercials.

The main reason that I am not sympathetic to Kirstie Alley's weight problem is because she accepted millions of dollars from Jenny Craig to be a celebrity role model and spokesperson. The exchange required that Kirstie maintain all of the lifestyle components needed to lose weight and keep it off. Now that her weight appears to be going up again, she is having her people tell the National Enquirer that she was devastated by comments about her weight on the set of Cheers: "She was mortified and never completely healed from that insult."

This smells like a big set up where Kirstie gets to play both sides of the fence. She got her millions from Jenny Craig for losing 75 pounds. Now she appears to be getting ready to start crying on the talk shows again about how emotionally wounded she is. I have seen this pattern with Kirstie and her PR people over and over through the years. My bet is that her next action is to write a book about her struggles with weight and depression. The book will conclude with Kirstie saying that she has learned to love herself and that she isn't her weight. She will make a few million from the book.

Kirstie Alley and her people know how the game is played. Jenny Craig won't criticize Kirstie because that would give her ammo to whine about how mean Jenny Craig was when she (insert excuse) that caused her to stress out and gain weight. IMO, Kirstie should finish out her career on a soap opera.

Kirstie Alley seems like a very troubled person to me.

Interesting point on the cross. I went back and looked and noticed it is not a Scientology cross, it is a Christian cross. I wonder if there is a message in that.

Whatever Kirstie's tactics on getting the most out of her apparent weight problem, morbid obesity is a medical condition and a medical doctor is the best person to consult in such a situation. Being overweight to that extent increases the incidence of diabetes; increases the risk of heart attack, stroke, congestive hear failure and other nasty conditions. Don't take my word for any of this, but I think a medical doctor will tell you all of that.

The other thing that is apparent is that scientology has not helped Kirstie at all with her weight condition. At her age (available through www.imdb.com ) she needs to be looking after herself better.

I take your point Wieber. I hope Kirstie gets herself world class medical care instead of vitamins, the Purif, and auditing. It would be great if Kirstie came out and said that Scientology had caused her decades of stress and that eating heavily on the OT levels was a big part of the problem with her weight.

You know, I think there may be something to that.

Kirstie Alley. John Travolta. Leah Rimini. Even Tom Cruise.

They all have weight problems which have interfered with their careers.

Kelly Preston doesn't appear to have a weight problem, but I remember reading something about her having an eating disorder. (Maybe bulemia? I don't remember. It was a long time ago I read it.)

It is true that people seem to eat a lot on their OT Levels. Tory posted somewhere that she gained a lot of weight on hers. I saw other public gain weight while on them, too. I remember a public who gained 50 pounds just while she was auditing on OT III.

I don't really know whether it's Scientology's fault or not. You are pushed to "eat enough to stay sessionable" and you do spend a fair amount of time sitting on your butt auditing, so that may do it. I don't really know.

Then again, on the plus side, maybe middle aged Scientology actors and actresses gain weight simply because they aren't doing cocaine and speed.

Courtney Love, after she went through rehab and gained some weight, was ridiculed for her weight gain.

Her response was something along the lines of, "I'm not doing drugs any more. How do you really think models and actresses stay so thin?"

She had a point.

The latest version of the Jenny Craig commersial has Kirstie sitting in a 57 chevy or caddy. You can only see her from the shoulders up and her hair is cover and she has on large sun glasses. (if I have it remember correctly).
The way it is going we are only going to see her head in another month or two.

I wonder if there could be a link between low current and hunger feelings.

If Scientologist had control over their bodies then they would all look like models. The amount of control that it would take to tone ones muscles and tighten and clear their skin is significantly less then the simpliest of wins that they attest too.

Hah! - I understand Kirstie! - I've done that myself! - Gotten my potbelly to go away, then having it come right back while I so enjoyed it was gone! - I've seen that happen to several people I know who lost weight. No 'OT' about that.. Kirstie fails same way as all us WOG's!

Potbelly has it's uses though. I can have a cup of coffee on it when reclining comfortably in the sofa! :D

Hrmm!! - I just realized that Kirstie is a lot smarter than I am! - I didn't generate a dime from that maneuver!

:onebounce:
