BFG,
I hope I will one day turn on my TV and see you telling this story (and others) to international media, a congressional committee - or both. Meanwhile, thank you for sharing it here. And to you, too, John, for all that you have revealed about the "most ethical group on the planet."

BFG, I don't know how you stood it.
The brunt of LRH's cruelty seems to have always been directed at SO members ever since it's inception.
official church website wrote:
"The Sea Organization derives its name from its beginnings in 1967 when Mr. Hubbard, having retired from his position as Executive Director International, set to sea with a handful of veteran Scientologists to continue his research into the upper levels of spiritual awareness and ability."

(Note: LRH had "retired" as EDI...yeah, right.)

Once LRH got people on board & out to sea he unleashed the full force of his sadistic "ethics" indoctrination.
From the accounts that I have read, it appears that as LRH morphed from "Ron" to "the Commodore" he became more & more ruthless, deranged & just plain cruel.
It was pretty much a foregone conclusion that LRH had severe mental problems.
But, none the less, the abuses continued & grew to new heights.
LRH always tortured SO members worse than any other group in his organization.
I think a good part of the reason is because SO members have always been isolated. They have no place to go because the church traps them by taking away everything from them.
The church invades every aspect of their lives.

I have no doubt that DM is every bit as demented as LRH ever was. He thoroughly embraces torture, cruelty & pain as measures of control--or even just for fun.
Desire for & indifference to human suffering is ALL he is about. He really could have "forgotten" about his "ethics handling" for 6 people, leaving them in dire circumstances for weeks?? I DON'T THINK SO!
He has no conscience.

I hope you will keep telling your stories BFG because what you say illustrates the will & the strength of charactor of those abused by the church.
By the same token, it also exposes the outrageous criminal & inhumane "policies" dictated by the leader of the organization.
I can't believe that this has gone unchecked for such a long time.

BFG - what a blast from the past. I had forgotten all about that. I was not part of the shoot crew, but I was there when DM perpetrated that atrocity. I had been "busted" and relegated to the same area but was inside one of the buildings there - only a few feet away from where the shoot crew was sleeping outside. I remember watching you guys and feeling "lucky" to be where I was, which is insane in itself. I feel bad now, like I got the first class version of the decks. But I was subjected to similar situations that probably made up for it in the end.

Can you imagine if a federal prison treated its inmates that way and the general public found out? I'm sure some correction facilities are pretty tough, but I do believe they are required to be somewhat humane, and certainly they don't organize things in order to repeatedly humiliate the inmates in front of the general population.

Besides, isn't that "punishment" instead of "rehabilitation"? And wasn't there policy against punishment? Oh, I forgot. That didn't apply in this case.

Hello FreedomFan!

You too were one of the "lucky" ones?

Same here.

Mostly lucky to get out of there, I'd say...

BFG, you managed to made me very, very angry! After 9 years of finding and reading about the atrocities, committed by the CULT, I was left speechless.
I took the liberty to send the story to the broadcasting foundation that had the CULT subjected for it's radio show yesterday(15 minutes, with OSA-boss Julia Rijnvis and Pieter (scientologate) among others).

Keep on posting!

Welcome to the Clambake, FreedomFan!

Whoopideedoo, ain't it great to be free?

BFG, my buddy RayRay read this yesterday, slapped his big ol' paw on the table and dedicated this weekend's pony keg to you and all the exes on this board.

He's cheap as sh#t, so that's kind of a big deal.

Keep telling the TRUE HARMS OF $CIENTOLOGY!

good old "Ethics Review" policy states, at the end of it:

"....32. Demotion.

"33. Loss of certificates or awards.

"34. Denial of auditing or training by a Comm Ev for a considerable period of time.

"35. Dismissal.

"36. Expulsion from Scientology.

"The above is a rough guide to the severity of discipline.

"Note that none of it carries any physical punishment or detention."

BFG, there are no words.

No, YES. there. are.

For me they will come in the form of performance at the March 15th protest pickets.

After reading yet another atrocity story, I am furious, sick at heart and angry as hell, not because I can't believe what you wrote, but because I can.

May whatever you believe in bless you forever, BFG, along with all the other brave souls who have and are presently telling the REAL truth about the criminal organization called Church of Scientology.

jax, everything you wrote about Hubbard I have heard in person from my ex-Sea Org friend who was a child on the Apollo, and eventually a messenger, blew when she was 22. Oh yes: Miscavige had a good teacher all right.

Welcome FreedomFan!

Welcome, FreedomFan. Your nick says it all. Happy to see you at this side of Freedom. Waking up from the delusion that is Scientology is not always easy (I was in for 30 years). But given the choice to go back or be where you're at now is very easy, no matter how much you can reminisce about how simple life was when you were clearing the planet. There are dark days and there is despair over wasted time and energy, but you will never volunteerly throw yourself back to the days of delusions. Never, never, never. Welcome and please share your stories with us, FreedomFan.

Thanks, friend. I would love to post stories. Since I'm new, I don't want to re-hash what's already been covered. I am really interested to know what members are interested in hearing. What types of stories? What would fuel your efforts?

From what I have seen, BFG is doing a fabulous job of exposing what really goes on at the "top". And of course there are dozens more who I'm not familiar with yet, but I know you've been relentless. tku. Anything I can do to forward that, let me know.

FF :D :D :D

It really doesn't matter if your experiences are similar to the others'. Tell them anyway. What life-altering experience made you decide to quit? How did you manage to get out? How has life been for you since then?

I drank the kool-aid as much as anyone there. But if I had been put through that ordeal, I think I would have left the first chance I had. Hell. I left for a lot less than that sort of degradation.

I cannot believe the shit being heaped upon these well-intentioned people by complete assholes like Miscavige and Stumpke.

I had the unfortunate mispleasure of seeing Jon Stumpke in action at the WTH building preparations and yes he is a complete power tripping asshole.

His father was a decent guy from the little I knew of him. The apple did fall very far from the tree in his case.
