Sooner or later when people find the net, they google their name, so I'm just plugging in the name Mary Panton (DeMoss) here, in the hopes she'll find

Congratulations on your new found freedom Mary and your spiritual emancipation from Scientology. Make the most of it.

Obviously this is a great development for all concerned. One aspect of attrition at the top ranks in Scientology is, firstly they lose their best operators, obviously, but secondly and more subtly destabilising for Scientology but equally ruinous, is that they will be forced to push relative newcomers up the ranks. You can't do this in a well managed cult without consequences. People will go out gradient and blow. The overall result will be an accelerating downward spiral leading finally to total collapse. I suppose the best description I've heard of this effect is that "Scientology is pulling in its own ruin".

Mary doesn't seem like one to hide and keep quiet. Here's hoping she is fed up with being used and abused by the cult and isn't going to take it any more!!!

Remember what happened to your good friend Lisa McPherson, Mary. You know that if the cult talks you back in for a "handling" the first step will be an "Introspection Rundown" personally C/Sed by David Miscavige.

Mary DeMoss blew?

Is this confirmed?

About time, Mary. About freakin' time.

Now...gather your self together and then (when you are ready) tell your story, Mary.

You have great ability. It is innate, not from CoS. Speak to us. The world will listen.

Hi Mary -- hope you'll be reading here sooner or later -- congratulations on thinking for yourself!

It is your life, no one can take it away from you. It is your family, no one can take it away from you -- No unfulfilled promises of spiritual salvation never to be; no doubt formulas designed for greatest good for Scientology; no feeding you only one side of the story day after day, year after year. For when you open your eyes and look, you can see.

I'm very happy indeed that you dared to question, dared to look and, most of all, DARED TO COME TO YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS. It would be great to hear your side of the story one day, but I leave that to you.

I have a great deal of anxiety for Mary. I get the sense from what is reported that she is in the transition space and may not be "out."

This may be a case of "I am fed up with all this horse shit. Why are all these people so off Source? I need a break, then I'll do my lower conditions and get back on the bridge on my terms."

Perhaps Mary is very glad she hasn't been declared so she doesn't have to do A to E or A to J or A to X or whatever one has to do now.

Mary, you don't know me. You have no reason to trust me. We have never met, as far as I know. But this is the truth, Mary: L. Ron Hubbard lied to you. L. Ron Hubbard never cared about anyone except L. Ron Hubbard. L. Ron Hubbard was a friend to no one.

If you are feeling lonely and need someone to talk to give Tory a call. She posted her phone number. I know she would love to talk to you. Mary, I hope you are reading this. I hope you can find your way to a safer place away from the badgering and hounding of those who remain in the so called church. I hope you can find some rest and some respite from the long hours, the scoldings, the sleep deprivation, and all the broken promises you have suffered.

I hope you do not reject what I have said and what all the other people posting here have said without really taking it in and thinking about it. For once listen to what we, the critics, have to say. Mary, I wish you well.

Cripes, good luck, Mary. No-one deserves to the horrific treatment of OSA. Stay strong.

I have a major soft spot for Mary DeMoss. She's obviously a woman of passion and wit, no matter who she's rattling a saber for.

Her contributions, shall we say, to the history of the critical scene are compelling.
It's ironic that she may find more compassion among critics - strangers - ... then she will find from people she considers her friends and family, who are possibly putting her through hell, who would turn on her on a dime if she were declared.

If she ever needed to reach out, even if just to *talk* to someone, she would find out that she has way more friends out here than she realizes.

Even if she's in transition, here's hoping she's taking the time to stop and regroup, to think, to READ, to recover from the pressure. Best wishes to you, Mary, wherever you are.

This news inspired me to delurk! Who could ever forget Mary after watching the xenutv videos? I couldn't, and the last time I saw them was *years* ago.

Mary, the outpouring of support and compassion (and this is coming from people who, by and large, have never met you) is only a sample of what you'll have when you're ready to reach out. We are here, and we've got your back. Stay strong.

Benny's Friend: I know what you mean. I think I'm in love with, like, everyone on this whole thread.

Good on Bunker and Tory for their offers! Class acts, the both of them, with big, loving hearts.

I'm sure she's in for a long, painful decompression. I hope that when she's got the will and energy she'll surf and find this site and the others and know that her leaving is celebrated and her recovery supported by the very folks she was brainwashed into vilifying.

Welcome out, Mary! The woggy water is just fine! You can wade in just as slowly as you like while you take in the sunshine and sip on that mental Margarita of freedom!

The Mary-DeMoss-Go-Round:

Mary Outside the LMT:
"Insanity", "nasty".

These are words Mark Bunker used in the video (although they were almost incidental to the human kindness he expressed) for the way that Scientology makes people behave.

They were the words I'd have used for Mary doing the 'what are you crimes' nonsense.

In fact the word "nasty" Mark used for the way Tory Chistman wrote on message boards as an OSA operative.

The first videos of Tory I saw were of her speaking rationally and intelligently of Scientology after leaving. Boy, was it a shock when I later saw the videos of her when she was in doing the same 'what are you crimes' thing.

So I guess there's hope for Mary from the merry-go-round video. I hope so.

WOW. I haven't even had my coffee yet and your telling me Mary blew? I was positive she was a lifer yet relieved to see I was wrong. I wish her the best of luck and hope she's OK. The true bridge to total freedom leads away from the Co$. Glad you found it ^__^

I hope she has plenty of family or friends outside the church to help her.

Hope it is true.

But I could see scientology trying to infiltrate the critic scene. And who better to do that then the famous DeMoss!
