Sent money to Shawn Lonsdale. Spoken out against CofS on the radio. Talked to other media in emails and in a televised interview that never made it to tv. Encouraged people to leave CofS. Created a thread with pictures of the "ideal org" building in Seattle that I posted to OCMB. Attended the picket in Seattle in February. Did some street theater in New Haven. Offered help to those leaving the SO. Talked to people in email who were thinking of joining or leaving CofS or wanted their money back and gave them advice.

Kudos to the person who helped get a Narconon shut down. I'd say that's something substantive.

Smitty, if you're still that interested, I think that all the members contributions here can be looked up by finding all posts by them. Ya think? You've been on this board long enough to read what they have done through the years.

Have you seen or do you remember that classic british comedy tv show "Yes Minister"?

Its often not what said but whats not said thats relevant.

Canberra is a Public Servant dominated city. Many are 2nd or 3rd generation public servants... and proficient in "public servantese talk" i.e. informing others by omission  ..so the press cannot attribute directly to you any "leaks"

What has this got to do with undressing co$? A lot. Public Servants are supposedly neutral .. they cannot use their position to cause changes thats suits their own agendas.
However     the "Yes Minister" tactic comes into play here.

There is a buddy network that stretches at different levels throughout many Govt departments. Let us say co$ tries some sort of letter writing campaign, or recruiting tactic that questionable etc .... all it takes is for a few whispers during the after work social club drinks session...and a conversation started within earshot of a senior official whose portfolio covers that area co$ is trying to influence. :)

I have seen it happen ... the senior official's ears literally stand on end and rotate to catch the conversation. Nothing is said by him. Thats good ! ..it means hes thinking it over .. if he did not agree with what was said he would speak out and the conversation killed. "yes minister"... (all bow to his superior status within the ranks...) ..next topic...

Rest assured that within 24 hours the powers higher up are advised. And any co$ propaganda is "assessed" in a legal and fair manner ( usually their letters are "recorded" as is supposed to be done, ... then filed in archives .....99% unread...

There is no reward for this. The only indication that you have been successful is when that senior officer..or one of his delegates.. deliberately stands next to you next after hours drinking session .. and chats with you

The only time I saw a direct acknowledgement was after the education department was alerted to the "drug free ambassadors" using fabricated news items to convince parents and citizens groups to allow a co$ spokeshole* to talk to students and distribute their crap .. and collect students names. I Understand the P & C groups involved were furious to learn that co$ was behind that. ( more enemies, osa  ), - Also the minister replied with an assurance that all school drug programs throughout the state would have to be referred to her office in the first instance. 8) ..and thanks for bringing it to their attention.

And the acknowledgement? Well a senior officer sidled up to me with two drinks in hand ... gave me one and commented "You sure write a nice letter - the minister was impressed" 8)

Some of us don't wear masks.... or visibly protest... but we are still anonymous

The venusian traindriver and crew
*( I stole that word "spokeshole" .... its perfect for describing the bunny sent in to try and defend co$ )

co$ deceives no only others, but also its own members.

A lot of people have issues with that.

Many posters on various groups have been attacked for being anonymous.

Myself included.

I don't know why anyone would think it is anyone else's business whether or not they share their real name on the Internet. That's just nuts.

It's not an Anonymous thing, it's an anonymous thing.

Please drive down the Internet safely, folks.

And this is one anonymous statement that I do agree with. That's why I'm John Smith.

Somebody make a note of this.

I would seriously question the motives of anyone asking for my real name on the Internet. Or any other personal information.

I would, too. I don't think people should ask that. However, a number of critics have gone on and on about it re people of whom they disapprove. People's nicks, their jobs, their schedules, marriages, etc.

I don't think those people doing that were OSA, but they were hypocrites and nasty nasty people.

What she said.

I became a bit more guarded about who, what and where I am when my ex hired a big (but fortunately dumb) biker dude to kill me. That was her version of "fair game" and/or R2-45, not sure.
