This story is a page straight out of George Orwell's "1984" -- even down to a guy called Winston! It's what Orwell warned us about, that people will create civilisations where lies and cruelty are the norm, and we have to stop that.

What a gut-wrenching story.

Just getting a "special mention" by DM as someone who is "fucking things up" is bad enough, for it results in instant sec checking, lower conditions and being in the shits until you make it out of lowers.

Being the main "star" of one of his briefings is virtually a near-death experience.

This briefing was one of the (unfortunately numerous) group engrams that have driven the Int Base into apathy. There is no question as to the intent behind the briefings: Apathy. To push it from all angles, add insanely harsh ethics penalties, finding a who, any who, and putting their head on the pike. It is such a disgusting method of mind control and group control it alone is enough to demand the dissolution of this organization.

I'm sure being the one that stands in front of the crowd confessing to 500 people what "my crimes are" is an experience that burns permanent scars into anyone's mind who has ever had to go through it, for it burns them even into the minds of those who sit in the audience having to look at something like this.

If there is one person in the audience that doesn't think "that could just as well be me" and feel accordingly, they have truly been pushed over the edge into the final product of Scientology: A mindless, emotionless, unquestioning, apathetic and fully other-determined zombie.

It never ceases to boggle my mind how Scientology delivers the EXACT opposite of what it claims.
