I think the xenu thing is fun. Remind them of the death via pneumonia and that you will continue after you have readt OT3 stuff. Or tell them that since you have left, you have gone back to school and become a psychiatrist.

Anyone ever see the movie "Groundhog Day" with Bill Murray? Well, I'm resurrecting this thread because it feels like Groundhog Day on steroids.

Nearly three and a half years after I made the original post and had my attorney at Pre-Paid legal draft several Cease and Desist letters to the L.A. day and foundation orgs, the SF org, Bridge, Flag, the Way to Happiness and at least one other org that I can't think of, out of the blue about an hour ago, I received a call (actually a voice mail since I am at work and didnt take the call) from someone named Lisa, who said the was with the mailing department at one of the L.A. orgs (the number was 323-580-5520.

I googled the number and here are a few hits:

http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-323-580-5520 (this was a site where people vent about the calls they received from that number)

http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-323-580-5520 (from why we protest)

http://194.63.248.138/ocmb/viewtopic.ph ... 3&p=452601 (a thread on OCMB from last April: D-Rad listed the same person and phone number)

I'm going to call Lisa when I get home from work and state that I mailed to the Central Addresso on Hollywood blvd. stating I wanted NO communication, be it phone calls, emails or USPS mail for ANY reason.

As usual, they never listen. They think that anyone who would not want to devote their life to Scientology is insane.

I'll post again tonight or tomorrow with whatever result (or lack therof) I get from Lisa.

You need to recognize there is a chain-of-command in Scientology where specific divisions deal with specific matters, and they rarely comm with each other. If you sent a legal letter to the cult, it would have been routed to OSA Legal, which would ignore the letter. The cult gets threats of legal action all the time.. the only way they would take a legal letter from you seriously, is if you actually filed a lawsuit against them.

Your simply threatening to sue them is a waste of time, effort & $$$.

Lisa Hoden (wife of Ken), who manages the Mailing Department would not be aware of the contents of the legal letter you sent, and would not care. Legal matters are not her hat. You can demand & threaten legal action to her till your blue in the face & die of a coronary, and she will simply ignore you.

It would be simpler not to get in a communication with CoS by ignoring their phone calls. This strategy will save you from the Scientology-related headaches.

Smurf and Demented LRH, what you both say is true. I plan on ignoring any calls with a 323 prefix since I have two friends who stlill live in LA and they have 818 area codes. However, when I called the number I posted yesterday and asked to speak to Lisa, I told her about the series of calls I received from various Scn orgs between Nov 2008 and Feb 2009, and that my attorney sent C & D letters to all of them and that I would initiate a law suit if I got even one more phone call. I didn't even let Lisa spew the usual Scn speil, and she apologized profusely and said she would make sure that my name was removed. Whether this actually happens or not remains to be seen.

Also, maybe it's just me, but it seems that they are taking legal threats much more seriously than they were as recently as 8-10 years ago, where anyone threatening legal action would be harrassed, threatened, be under survailence and slimed to the media. This was their modus operendi for decades under both Hubbard and Miscavige. Are they backing off more these days since they cannot afford any more footbullets or bad PR? Just wondering.

The press, as a standard operating procedure, puts reporters into the courts. For $cientology having high octane celebrities is proving to be a double edged sword. Thanks to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and, to a lesser degree, John Travolta the general public at large has developed an interest in $cientology almost to the point where, even without the celebrities that have generated the initial interest, $cientology is now considered newsworthy by the media. In addition to that the media does not fear $cientology.

$cientology has all the newsworthy features per $cientology's policy: "blood, sex, money, big names and two opposing forces." It seems they have worked very hard for a long time to arrive at that situation. Well, now they have it.

I've been told that turning the discussion obscene and talking about the sex you would like to have with the caller can get them to leave you alone :)

Obscenity on the phone is a misdemeanor; I recommend Xenu discussion.

If you have the time keep them on the phone talking about any kind of trivialities. Waste their time and crash their stat. They will remember that and they will hesitate to call again. Do it three or four times and that person will stop calling. You may have to do it again when they get replaced.

If they want to confirm you for an event then confirm for it. "Oh, yeah. I'll be there. Definitely. What's the time and address again? How do I get there? What about parking? Will there be security? Who will be speaking at the event? How long do you expect it be?" You may get an ethics call when you don't show. So what? It's another opportunity to make their day.

Heehee; you'd better be away from home at an undisclosed location, in case they send a car to take you to the event.

You could just wear an "I'M WITH XENU" tee shirt that day. I'm pretty sure those are available somewhere.

Why talk to them at all?

I've been getting a few calls from the cult as of late, I simply don't answer.

My policy is to ignore the phone unless I know who is calling anyway.

If they send someone to my house again I'll probably call the cops. We weren't home last time around. Either that or I'll dig out my actual formal "sheepskin" copy of my degree in Psychology and show it to them.
