Racketeering suit claims Mark Driscoll misused Mars Hill donor dollars, Seattle Times, by Nina Shapiro, Feb. 29, 2016, http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-new ... ll-church/
The lawsuit could set an interesting precedent.... involving racketeering allegations against religious figures.
...
Other wealthy churches could face similar questions about who, exactly, is benefiting from moneys raised...

To prove racketeering, the plaintiffs in the Mars Hill suit need to show an ongoing pattern of wrongful acts during a four-year period specified.
...
its “global fund,” ... was supposed to be used for international missions. By 2014, the fund was taking in $300,000 a month. Yet only a small percentage of the money raised was used internationally...

... damages... would be tripled under racketeering law if the plaintiffs are successful. The Jacobsens, former Mars Hill deacons, contributed more than $90,000 to the church.

My comment: There are several parallels to David Miscavige and the IAS. I really hope this shakes up the coddling of criminals using religion as a cloak.
