Mary Sue's Marriage Hats

Post by Wieber » Tue Nov 10, 2015 6:40 pm

There's a reference and link in one of Tony Ortega's Underground Bunker entries about a pamphlet Mary Sue Hubbard wrote about
Marriage Hats. I want to read it but I don't have time right now, so I'm posting the link here so I can find it easily and get back to it.
I may have some commentary on it later. Should you read it, you may want to comment on it in this thread, too.

I read it. Now I need to have my brain washed again. The following 1950s ad pretty much sums up Mary Sue's pamphlet.

What else would you expect from a woman who married a man who thought her only needs were "clothes and food and tender happiness and frills, a pan, a comb, perhaps a cat" (and considered even those "caprice"), then took the fall for his cult's spy operation and went to prison?
