Yeah he says that but he says it about all drugs- even aspirin. He says this is what all drugs do - all pain relievers, prescription drugs, street drugs etc. Scientologists see all drugs as exactly the same (kind of ironic, when in Scientology the equation A=A is supposed to be a negative). I confirmed this weird idea they have about drugs just recently with a current scino. This person actually thought that aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and narcotic pain killers etc. were all chemically identical. Not that this person really cared that they aren't. They are looking at it from a perspective of these drugs accomplishing a function in a mind, as explained by Hubbard. Outside of that context, their ideas are very ignorant. This just goes to show how confused, misinformed and misguided Scientology indoctrination can make a person.

There has been little research on Cannabis (unfortunately) due to its having been condemned by the authorities. Now that we have a few years of data (and growing), its effects/benefits can finally be openly analysed, and the data will expand.

To do otherwise would be detected by an auditor, and result in sending the person to the church's Ethic Officer (or MAA in an upper level church) and you would be in big trouble.
Yep, Catholic priests don't hook penitents up to a lie detector during confession... but during the Inquisition, they did use other... uhhh... persuasive means to get people to confess their sins and unburden their souls.

Prescription painkiller deaths fall in medical marijuana states, By Kathryn Doyle, Reuters, Aug. 26, 2014, http://news.yahoo.com/prescription-pain ... ntentstory

California has medical marijuana so people getting good, non-addictive pain relief means fewer Californians stumbling into Scientology, and fewer California prescription pain-killer addicts stumbling into Narconon. California is the home of CoS's corporate headquarters and many followers. The Scientologists are getting out-of-date as public opinions change on marijuana.

Florida votes on medical marijuana on Nov. 4.(1) If it passes, fewer customers, and fewer believers in Reefer Madness, will hurt Scientology and Narconon in Florida, home of Flag and a shrinking few thousand (?) Scientologists. The upcoming CoS-sponsored anti-Marijuana conference in Florida(2) is related to CoS's fear of marijuana as a competitor.

Twenty-four American states(3) have some medical marijuana freedom:
1. Alaska
2. Arizona
3. California
4. Colorado
5. Connecticut
6. DC
7. Delaware
8. Hawaii
9. Illinois
10. Maine
11. Maryland
12. Massachusetts
13. Michigan
14. Minnesota
15. Montana
16. Nevada
17. New
Hampshire
18. New Jersey
19. New Mexico
20. New York
21. Oregon
22. Rhode Island
23. Vermont
24. Washington

Cannabis plus radiation treatment looks promising against brain cancer, http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/20 ... 085629.htm

Will Scientologists choose their brain or their dogma, if diagnosed with brain cancer?

More science is the answer! Pediatric epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, brain tumors, ulcerative colitis, and pain management - can cannabis help? Will CoS accept progress, or tell its members and staff to do useless courses?

From Psilocybin To MDMA: Researchers Are In The Throes Of A Psychedelic Revival, by Derrick Broze, Oct. 24, 2015, Shadowproof, https://shadowproof.com/2015/10/24/from ... c-revival/

Not just marijuana, but other drugs like psilocybin could bring hope and healing. The feeling of unity can help with depression, addiction, and fear of disease and death. The new approach is to take these mind-altering drugs in pure form, in controlled doses, and with assistance from a professional. This cuts down on the "bad trips" that gave psychedelics such a bad reputation in the 1970's.

Cannabinoids remove plaque-forming Alzheimer's proteins from brain cells, Salk Institute, June 29, 2016, ScienceDaily.com, https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2 ... 095609.htm

Scientologists born in the 1950's and earlier are not immune to Alzheimers, and if marijuana becomes a treatment, they again are stuck - Decline slowly into feeblemindedness and death, or use every remedy, which might include marijuana.

Hello Sea Org workers - you don't have the privacy to hide marijuana remedies, and Sea Org would make you quit if they found out. Quit now to maximize your sanity and health!
