I took Sponge's "black face Miscavige" as a satire on Scientology's racism. Miscavige fronts for an organization whose guru (Hubbard) wrote and said some openly racist things about blacks, not all of which have been excised from the doctrine. Now Miscavige wants to come across as a "brother," so he "puts on a black face," but it's the false face of racial bigotry. Wikipedia has an interesting article about "black face" and notes its contemporary use as satire.
I think Sponge is really funny, he/she makes me laugh alot. I'm not and never have been very good with satire/black comedy. It's just some things in life are not funny, no matter how you try to find humour in whatever the subject.
For arguements sake, I can picture DM as the devil, no problem with that at all. I can picture LRH as the devil and believe me I can actually see him as the devil. He was not a very nice man, at all
Now, treading on dangerous ground here. I have always held a strong belief, that no matter what your colour of skin, you should have the same rights as any other human being. It's under the skin that makes the difference.
You have good and bad in any combination of skin colour. No one should be thought different of because of skin colour.
However, there are times when I have felt ashamed to be white, because of how in the past, and even in the present some people treat other peoples purely because of the colour of their skin.
That is a whole different ball game to religion or lack there of, or of different cultures.
I understand what Sponge has done here, but I am not sure it is the right thing to do.
Having said that, it has come to my attention, that now more and more white people have become aware of what scientology is all about, it appears that scientology is now focussing largely on the black community.
Do I find that sick, you're damned right I do as LRH was a rascist, he didn't care who he took money from and he did not care who he hurt in the process. Black or white, or any shade in between.
