I once heard "the Ego is a wonderful servant and a horrible master".

And I wonder if scientology cater's to the Ego, as a Master.

To wit: aside from the altruistic tendencies of most PC's it seems the entire system of scientology is designed to appeal to and strengthen the fundamental tell tale signs of the Ego as Master of ones Being.

Control of Others, Lust for Power, Superiority of Self, etc. etc.

Which would explain the near universal outcome (at the top OT levels) of spiritual disintegration, paranoia, and a compulsive obsessive focus on ones Self, being well entrenched in a fierce opposition to the world (of lesser beings). Marked by emotional, mental (and on no shortage of occasions) physical violence in the enviroment in which the Ego reigns Supreme.

David's been known to slap a few people around.

And make no mistake about it, whilst David may not be a legitimate bonafide Hubbardarian OT 8, he's read everything Hubbard every wrote up to and including it.

Dispensing with the nuances of actually eliminating Hubbards fanciful BT's He is nonetheless well armed with the intellectual underpinings of what constitutes Control, Power and Superiority.

Egomania at the Pinnacle of Being. Ala L. Ron Hubbard (2nd Generation).

Which is precisely, by the way, why scientology will be around for a long long time. And why it continues to attract new "raw meat" every day.

The Ego is not a fantasy. Scientology is a fantasy. But the Ego is not a fantasy. It is very very real. Needing only darkness & warmth to grow.

It's cops and robbers at the spiritual level. An eternal game. So to speak.

With good news and bad news in its wake.

The good news being the Ultimate payoff in the Spiritual Awakening. The bad news being the hell of a price that is paid for it.

The good news being you can lead a Spirit to deception, but you can't make em believe it, the bad news being you can lead an Ego to Truth, but you can't make em believe it either.

So sit back. Relax, and pass the popcorn. & Root for the good news.

And watch the worlds stage of a play.

Lol.

ZU: I am glad you raised this topic. I have said in other places that, at its worst, Scn appeals to middle and upper income naricissists -- and I am convinced that LRH, DM, Tom Cruise, and so many of the other players in Scn all have Narcissistic Personality Disorder that can easily escalate to outright meglomania with all of its attendant violence.

DM has slapped people. DM has spit on people. DM routinely unleashes profanity-laded tirades at his lessers, and this while he is surrounded by bodyguards. DM is the classic coward-meglomaniac-tyrant narcissicist as was his master, LRH:

Quote:
An all-pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behaviour), need for admiration or adulation and lack of empathy, usually beginning by early adulthood and present in various contexts. Five (or more) of the following criteria must be met:

1. Feels grandiose and self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents to the point of lying, demands to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)

2. Is obsessed with fantasies of unlimited success, fame, fearsome power or omnipotence, unequalled brilliance (the cerebral narcissist), bodily beauty or sexual performance (the somatic narcissist), or ideal, everlasting, all-conquering love or passion

3. Firmly convinced that he or she is unique and, being special, can only be understood by, should only be treated by, or associate with, other special or unique, or high-status people (or institutions)

4. Requires excessive admiration, adulation, attention and affirmation - or, failing that, wishes to be feared and to be notorious (narcissistic supply)

5. Feels entitled. Expects unreasonable or special and favourable priority treatment.

6. Demands automatic and full compliance with his or her expectations Is "interpersonally exploitative", i.e., uses others to achieve his or her own ends

7. Devoid of empathy. Is unable or unwilling to identify with or acknowledge the feelings and needs of others

8. Constantly envious of others or believes that they feel the same about him or her

9. Arrogant, haughty behaviours or attitudes coupled with rage when frustrated, contradicted, or confronted

And this is just the beginning! Narcissicists only get worse with age. If DM is bad now, wait until you see a pudgy 55 year old DM whose looks have gone.
