Everyone Brent Jones, the Scientologist lawyer who defrauded Raul Lopez http://goo.gl/JwVi1 and is now running for a legislative seat in Nevada is about to face the voters. They start voting in a week in Nevada I think. BUT the word has not really gotten out about this guy and his history.

A Las Vegas reporter turned down the story because Raul's mother would not talk about the case.

Does anyone else know of individuals with knowledge of this case that we could direct to reporters and folks in Las Vegas?

I listened to that Alan Stock show and that guy was hitting it hard for good ol' Brent. Don't know why but there is also an Assemblyman John Ellison who supports him and another candidate Victoria Seaman who has endorsed them. I cant imagine they are all Scilons but we should let them know this guys history.

What else can we do this week to let folks know about this guy?

Not true. Brent is running against fellow Republican Mari St. Martin in the primary election on June 12.

I spoke with Mike Squires, the political editor for the Las Vegas Sun several weeks ago about Brent and mailed him alot of dox. Like that which occurred with Nathan Baca when he contacted them, Raul Lopez' parents, Alicia & Elaiser, refused comment. Mike said Brent's chances of winning the primary are 50/50, but chances of winning the election in November are nil. Senate District 9 has a heavy Democratic voter base.

Brent's been endorsed in the business community & with some military veterans. Mari has endorsements among Chinese-American & senior citizens.

Regardless of whatever belief system to which Mr. Jones subscribes, he's a helluva better bet than a vote for Jack St. Martin who is an establishment Republican operative from Washington DC that married a young lady from White Pine County, NV and now seeks to control a senate seat from his private quarters through his wife, Mari. Jack couldn't be elected dog catcher in Nevada because of his mismanagement of Sharron Angle's senate campaign against Harry Reid. Too many Angle staffers and volunteers think Jack's actions were designed to sabotage Sharron's campaign and whether the staffers and volunteers are correct or not, the voters in District 9 should know that if they don't vote for Brent Jones regardless of his perceived shortcomings, they're going to get Jack St. Martin running their fortunes from behind the scene and this is the guy who helped Harry Reid stay in office. Where would you rather place your bet? Washington Establishment insider, Jack St. Martin or Las Vegas businessman and conservative Republican Brent Jones? Let's face it, the reason that you're hearing all these negatives about a fine man like Brent Jones is because that's how the Washington insiders play the game. If you can't beat'em fair and square, go negative and make-up unproven stories so that you can get control of a state senate seat and help your powerful friends. Do not listen to this establishment non-sense! Vote for Brent Jones!

Hi, B Lawrence, and welcome to the board.

It may well be that the other choices for for this legislative position are all bad, but Brent Jones seems unethical to the people who have followed the sad story of the defrauding of a brain-injured man by Brent Jones.

What kind of person does that?

Long before he ran for this position, it seemed pretty crooked and sad. Too bad Nevada doesn't have better options.

Voting for a Tea Party member is an extremely bad choice even if he/she is not a Scientologist; only a complete idiot would vote for Brent Jones.

Having said that, I am still surprised that a Scientologist would join Tea Party. Last time I checked, Tea Party folk are all Christians.

That's not true, DLRH. One of the core values of the Tea Party is adherence to "traditional family values" which has a different meaning to different groups. There are Jewish & Muslim members of the Tea Party movement.

Because conservative Christians believe the Bible is the book "family values," most belong to the Republican Party, many of whom are a part of the Tea Party movement. But, the Tea Party is not a conservative Christian movement.

15 Non-negotiable Core Beliefs..

1. Illegal aliens are here illegally.

2. Pro-domestic employment is indispensable.

3. A strong military is essential.

4. Special interests must be eliminated.

5. Gun ownership is sacred.

6. Government must be downsized.

7. The national budget must be balanced.

8. Deficit spending must end.

9. Bailout and stimulus plans are illegal.

10. Reducing personal income taxes is a must.

11. Reducing business income taxes is mandatory.

12. Political offices must be available to average citizens.

13. Intrusive government must be stopped.

14. English as our core language is required.

15. Traditional family values are encouraged.

^^ Smurf, I heard that the Tea Party are opposed to the stem cell research. Maybe, this is not one of their core beliefs, but they exclude a possibility of compromise on this issue. They also call abortion a "murder".

Republicans largely oppose stem cell research & abortion, unless it endangers the life of the mother. It has nothing to do with Christianity. Traditional Muslims & Jews also consider abortion to be tantamount to murder.

You may recall that Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Sr, & George Bush, Jr. vetoed funding for stem cell research.

^^Both Christians and Jews interpret The Old Testament in such way that it seems to prohibit the abortion. I had several discussions with both groups at the Christian and Jewish websites. However, not all Christians and Jews are opposed to the abortion; some agree with my argument that the Hebrew words for "abortion” and “murder” are not synonyms. The Bible prohibits the murder, but it says nothing about the abortion.

^^ It could be OSA, but it also could be someone from the campaign staff. He/she, probably, thinks that all ex-Scientologists are stupid.

I am going to quote myself now:

B Lawerence is a safe read for current SCNists. You can compare KSW to keep tea party working. I don't think OSA can write that up. He would rather vote a fraud and crook into the law making senate.

Good call, re: campaign staff member. Of course, maybe Mr. Jones has Scientologists on his campaign staff.

Mine was an ungracious welcome, B Lawrence. I am glad you are here, and hope you stay.

Staffer or no, the attacking-the-other guy thing without defending is vintage Scientology. Not "Corporate Scientology": but retro, "shabby chic" Scientology Classic.

I would expect a staffer to explain about why Jones would be an excellent choice, becuase he's done this, that, and the other; he loves America, remembers 9/11, supports our troops, etc.
