In the thread,
The Edge interview with high level scientology defector,
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=89390&start=0 , Born2Shop mentioned being "run off Hubbard telexes."
When I was on staff in the big org in the seventies $cientology's main internecine communication medium was the telex machine. The orders of the day (OODS), policy letters, bulletins, directives and orders arrived daily by telex. I assume reports from the org, such as the Thursday at 2 reports and compliance messages to orders also went by telex. Every org and mission had a telex machine.
As far as I know the location of the telex machine in the orgs was not well known among most staff members. I am assuming that in orgs where there was a large Guardian's Office/Office of Special Affairs group that it would have its own telex machine.
Does $cientology still use telex as its main form of internal communication? Are there policies and directives on the use of telex machines in orgs? What's in those policies?
I'm curious about this. If anyone here knows much about this aspect of $cientology please tell us about it.
