I wanted to revive this thread and get some update of what people are experiencing right now on getting refunds. I've been reading stories of those who have gotten money back and those who have not. Are there any attorneys, experienced and successful in these matters, that one can recommend for advice or retaining?

It's a significant amount of money we're talking about here to many different orgs and groups.

My initial attempt has been met with the standard no refunds response.

BTW, does the Scn buy back meters and materials?

No 8C now: I'm sure another poster, Free at last won't mind me copying/pasting their post on another topic here, regarding more help in getting refunds, etc:

" File with the District Attorney in your area for refunds because it was all fraud.

If you were on staff, file with the
Board of Labor for back wages and overtime and interest.

File with the Justice Department for harassment and contact your local police every time they show up unannounced.

Keep a small hidden tape recorder and record everything they say to you."
(end copy/paste).

On getting rid of your materials and meters, I don't know if Scn will buy them back or not, but if they don't/can't, you can always sell them on your own in your paper or online on places like Ebay.
Good Luck!

No8Cnow, the only refunds I know about happened faster than fast once the person filed a complaint with the District Attorney.

Really? Can you tell me where to find this person? Shall I write a letter, have my attorneys write it? What do you suggest.

Flag still owes me a TON of money, and I'd like it back. Please let me know...thanks.

Tory, all you have to do is file a claim with the District Attorney's office. Look in the phone book for the area or find them on the net.

You have to file the complaint as fraud to get them to help you.

Tory,
I had some money paid in for the L:s at Flag(the sickest place on earth).., not much money at all, anyway I just wrote them a letter, just to test if they would return to me. I said in the letter that I wanted my money back.
After a couple of weeks there was an extremely nice woman calling me from Flag.
She wondered why I wanted my money back.
I told her straight that I thought it was just a big scam and that L Wrong Dingdång just was a conman.
I think for the first time I heard a SO-member bacame completely quiet.
And after some seconds she asked if I`ve been om the net.
Anyway she said that I could get my money back if I really wanted, but she thought that I really shouldnt take the money back because then I would have no chance to get back to the bridge.
I explained to her that I sure as hell didnt want to take another step n this bridge to nowhere.(didnt tell her this ..but I would rather nail my dick onto a burning house than take another step on the bridge...):)
But I didnt take the money back because of two factors: It wasnt so much money and it seemed like an effort to get them back.
I actually regret that I didnt take the money back...just for the principle..well its not to late yet...

Hope you understand my poor grammar and spelling...:)

Take care!

Stanley...

Go for it! Can I ask who you spoke with? She sounds like she got it, and I'd like to give her a call. Please e-mail me who it is, as if you post it here, OSA will just insist she not help me. They probably already have that in, but hey, it's worth a try. They SHOULD follow their own damned policies.

Hey, Stanley! Perhaps you'd like the address of my Father's cemetery wherein his corpse lies...or feel free to conduct a seance. I've only just finished grieving for him and wrapping up his estate in the past year.

Thanks. It's odd, because sometimes the things that remind me of him and of Mom (they died 7 months apart) aren't things that I'd have expected. Just the oddest things.

It's better now but I think of them every day. It just feels a lot less like an open wound and more like a bruise nowadays.

Anyway, re Dad and his Scn thing, Dad had a free spirit thing happening. He was a Catholic and bit strict about things there but at the same time was open to things people told him about. One of which was Scn which he got into when I was about 10.

Later on he got into mysticism, astrology, always had an interest in psychology- lots of things. He was too free spirited to get along with the missionholder where he was doing services, and ended up just quietly leaving. And, truthfully, although I was really party line in those days, it didn't bother me.

He asked for his money back ("a/p" money, not money pd for services) and made a flap til he got it. This shocked me a bit, but really, no one at the higher orgs made a deal over it re Dad and me being connected and I surely didn't want to fuss over it, so it went its course. What the deal was- was CofS needed to honor its own references about "oh, no problem if you want your money back".But you know how they are about money and control.

They never bothered to expell him but not like he was making any more waves. I've been told that these days they are far quicker to expell someone for doing that same thing.

Dad drifted around, trying many different things and periodically attending church in the Catholic church, keeping up with his readings of all different things. We actually had a lot of nice talks about it without anyone getting all pissed off at the other.

When I went through his things at his home (Which I did just about a year ago) I had to go through his books. I found a lot of stuff on all kinds of esoteric subjects but also psychology and anthropology. Oddly, I found 9 books by Shree Bagwan thingie person. The only reason I thought it was odd was I thought that if he had 9 of them, then that meant he'd found that particular group/cult very interesting but he'd not mentioned it to me. A friend suggested that maybe Dad bought them all at once.

Anyway, he had a lot of interest in these subjects but didn't want to be tied down to any one in particular.

I think he thought I was a little too single minded but he was used to it already and didn't think much of it because my Mom was, although bright, charming, and witty, very traditional and strict as a Catholic and in other ways. So he pretty much let us be and did his own thing. And, out of love, we reciprocated with him, just as he and Mom did with me.

Thanks, I had run across his name as part of the team that got Wollersheim his 86 million dimes.

I would certainly hope I can settle this amicably without threats and such.

BTW, did Graham Berry get his license revoked? I can't seem to locate any current data about him.
