Kate, there is no reason to state who you are until you are ready to. Be advised that there are ramifications of going public, not the least of which are OSA.

Don't let anyone bull bait you in to telling more than you have told.

Your story is sad but true, and there are many others who experienced similar things. I am so happy for you and your kids that you were able to pick up the peices and carry on, without the poisonous tech of Hubbard.

I wish you and yours all the best. Love, Ladybird

Thanks Kate,
I couldn't hold back the tears. I am so deeply sorry. We were all so seriously deceived and brain washed. It has taken me 20 years to talk about my Cof$ experiences and thank God for OCM!

What an expensive lesson fo us! I hope someday we can see the real value for these lessons. Being Cult--Proof for the future sounds pretty cool!

Ken Shapiro and I were Regges at Asho in the early days and he is currently in the RPF. Three years in the Sea Org was a lot of brain washing for me but Kenny has 35+ years in the Sea Org. I cannot even begin to fathom the level of brain washing he has received.

I wish you lots of healing and better health and much happiness, you truly deserve it!
Please forgive yourself, you only wanted a better life and a better planet and we all did.
TOTAL ACCEPTANCE IS TOTAL FREEDOM!!
Take care, Sea Ogre

Kate.........

I just got home, read all of this, and I sit as others have said, crying. Oh my Gawd...I'm
SO Sorry! and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your story with us.

I agree with Ladybird...no need to name any of your family's names. Stay safe, heal, grow, help your family move on as you are doing.

As I've posted, I've known 5 young men who were Scientologists and either wanted out, or had one parent in, one out. Each killed themselves, and the pain connected with such a tragedy as you have experienced (and their families did too) is truly unbelievable.

Your telling this story will help more people than you can possibly imagine. Thank you.

Blessings ~~[Image no longer available]

Add my thanks to all the rest, Kate. You are a courageous woman, and you are helping many others just by telling your story here. I don't doubt a word of it.

Thank you for posting your account Kate. I am so glad that you survived to tell your story.

Hopefully many others will be better informed from reading your story, and will steer well clear of this destructive cult.

Kate,

Thank you for posting your story. This took a lot of courage. I read it yesterday and as many others stated they cried, as did I.

I agree with Pitbull that the Co$ must be shut down once and for all. I hope we see this one day soon.

It is good to know that you and your kids are recovering and moving forward in life.

All my best to you and yours!

love, lucy

I just read the last two parts. They were very moving. Yet another life lost because of Scientology. Your pain and guilt, Kate, must have been enormous.

I hope you and your children recover and someday you or they find a way to tell what Scientology did to your family to the whole world. EX-Scientologists and their family members being shuddered into silence is what keeps Scientology alive and working the same scam on others, which may result (for some) in the same or a similar ending.

Your details are very revealing. Have you considered that they might provide enough information for OSA to alrready know who you are?

Good Luck,

Tigger, F*** Osa. If enough of us tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about what effect scientology has had in our lives, they will shrivel up into the toast that they are.

I spent years being the quintessential Sea Org member, and yes, I was OSA and yes, I did guess who Kate is because I did a couple of missions at her Org. Most OSA and SO do not have the time to leisurley reflect, plus I cannot begin to tell you how shocked I was to read the low IQ scores of many of the tip top Executives. I do happen to have a mind like a steel trap and even though my short term memory is suffering the effects of menopause, my long term memory is quite intact.

Kate, thank you for telling Sam's story. You may never know who you have helped, and I hope you will stay here and lend your voice and your experience to this fight against scientology on the 'NET.

Thanks, guys. I really needed to spit it all out. It was like lancing a festering wound.

Tigger--
Yes, the pain and guilt are great. Even if I leave Scn out of it, the pain and guilt would be there. They are common to survivors of suicides. I have gotten my own professional help.

That was another very hard thing to do--walk into a psychologist's office and ask for help. After all, for 30 years they had been the enemy.

Can OSA find me out? Possibly.

But, they should be more worried about defection from their own ranks than with mine.

I became curious last night about how big this bogey man really was, so I did some research. Let's put OSA and Scn in perspective..

CofS says they have 8 million members, right? Come on guys, let's give them the benefit of a doubt (be reasonable) and agree that at some point 8 million people cross paths with Scn in the last 55 years.

How does this stack up to the total world's population?

Here are the statistics:

WorldPopulation: 6,379,157,361 (July 2004
http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/fields/2119.html

Now, what does that mean in percentages?

Well, divide 8,000,000 by the world's population. I did and I got 0.00125 or .125%. Scn at its best--which we all know is a gross exxageration--is 1/10th of a single percent of the total world. A drop in the bucket!

The table below tells how Scn really stacks up with other world religions. It has a very long way to go and it is targeting the wrong market--just like a Suppressive Person--Wrong Target!

From a table found at:

http://www.religioustolerance.org/worldrel.htm

Religion, Membership , % of World
Christianity: 2,039 million, 32% (dropping)
Islam: 1,226 million, 19% (growing)
Hinduism: 828 million, 13% (stable)
No religion *: 775 million, 12% (dropping)}
Chinese folk rel.: 390 million, 6%
Buddhism: 364 million, 6% (stable)
Tribal Religions, Shamanism, Animism: 232 million, 4%
Atheists: 150 million, 2%
New religions.: 103 million, 2%
Sikhism: 23.8 million, <1%
Judaism: 14.5 million, <1%
Spiritism : 12.6 million, <1%
Baha'i Faith: 7.4 million, <1%
Confucianism: 6.3 million, <1%
Jainism: 4.3 million, <1%
Zoroastrianism: 2.7 million, <1%
Shinto: 2.7 million, <1%
Taoism: 2.7 million, <1%
Other: 1.1 million, <1%
Wicca: 500,000, <1%

Thanks, Ladybird. With you in my corner, I can actually feel brave. :)

I think I know you too, and if true, you really are OSA's worst nightnare.

Stay safe.

Yes, there is strength in numbers and there are A LOT of us out here now. These devious evil son's of Bixxxxx do everything they possibly can to bring people in and squeeze everything from them, but show nothing in return as they practice shunning and declaring or denial of auditing after years of dedication. If anyone coming in saw the real statistics of the number of people who read a book, and took a service but left for a whole raft of reasons compared to the few who stick it out long enough to become fully trapped, they would leave it alone or find their auditing services somewhere else. It still shocks me how many in the sea org or staff join up for the "ideals" but spend years and decades without even getting much of any real services.

OSA is toast, they have failed and they have ruined the best they had. For instance, how can Kendrick Moxon continue to be a deluded adherent after the cult killed his daughter and called it an accident?

All osa has left is a bunch of idiots who's paranoia rival's only LRH's.

And whose collective IQ's rival any one of ours.

Good for you, Kate, for getting some professional help in spite of all Scientology did to convince you that psychs were evil.

According to Conway and Seigelman, it takes longer to recover from Scientology than it does from any other cult.
Many don't know what happened to them until years after they leave.

Doing what Scientology told you never to do (seeking professional helP) was probably the best move you made (after getting the H--- out of Scn., of course)

I was wondering what eye condition you have. When I was married to a Scieno and was diaagnosed with Stargart's Disease, he tried to persuade me eye problems were a symtom of mental problems and that Hubbard could cure them.
