When answering mail in the messenger it would be nice if the mail I am answering is shown below my reply. Like when one answers a post on the messageboard.

Når jeg besvarer en post på opslagstavlen kan jeg se hele tråden i en box nedenfor min post. Kunne det ikke være ligesådan i messengeren?

Venlig hilsen
Sarah

Hi Sarah,

When reading a privagte message there should be a "Quote" button at the right of the message. This button will let you reply with the text you are replying to quoted (same way as the messageboard).

The codes you can see in square brackets are called BBCode. Check your "Profile" (link bellow top logo) to see if "allow BBCode" is enabled.

Allso when you post there is a selection for "Disable BBCode in this post". If this is activated (as it is for your post above). Then these codes will not work. The default setting of this reflects the setting in your profile.

O.K. it worked (sort of) I guess you cant quote two people.

For some reason I thought ifyou had the BBCode on, it wouldn't highlight URL'S. So that's why I turned it off in Profile and turned on the HTML. So I guess I leave the HTML turned on in profile and when I want to quote someone I turn on the BBCode for that post....?

Not possible to automaticly quote two people. But you can yourself create the quotes and the quotes codes, and allso write inbetween them. Like this post where I manually have edited the quote and the codes (I will post the same post twice - where i will disable bbcode for one of the posts so you can se how it was done.

I'd actually recommend ONLY having BBcode enabled, and not HTML. URL's should still be hightlighted. The reason for this is that in theory (although there are mecanisms in place to try and prevent this) "evil" code could be entered using HTML. (e.g. like some computer viruses which spread themself via webpages).

And a small but important tip:
When writing such "advanced" posts where you edit using BBCode I would highly recommend using the preview button to make sure it works before posting.

You can do it this way using the "quote" feature above or you can modify it by adding ="frode" after the word quote in the first bracket like so:

just like frode said above
