I've been lurking for quite some time and I finally have to speak out...could somebody please explain to me how this is legal? I read Arnie's situation earlier and was stunned but this...this is something else. Is it because challenging them costs time and money? Or is there actually no legal recourse?

Andreas, I would gladly write a letter to your employer. My employer and everyone at my workplace know all about $cientology now. Tactics like phone calls to Security and letters to employers and neighbors don’t work anymore – it has stalker mentality. Just a few months ago, there were very few references to Scientology in the media and anything in the media would have made it on this board. After the Tom Cruise remarks, the media has had an open field day on $cientology. There’s so many critical articles out there right now and humorous websites exposing Xenu and L. There are Lawyers who figure out what scientology is

At this time it is difficult to find one who knows what scientology is AND is willing to litigate them pro-bono...

Scientology will use every trick in the book and some the judges will have never seen before to use the legal system to run up such astronomical costs that Lawrence Wollershiem told me, yes, you can beat Scientology in court, but yould better have a MILLION DOLLARS...

Factnet had 2 million in combined litigation insurance and directors liability as soon as Scientology found that out after raiding me, they then raided FACTNet and started ANOTHER case in colorado...

Splitting the 2 million we thought we had to finish a case.

During mycase one attorney quipped that "I havent seen litigation like this other than tobacco litigation"

The attack upon Andreas, is nothing more than a desperate effort of Scientology to achieve what pitbul, uMike, fluffy and some others are failing to achieve...SILENCE.

At the instant one tries to do fundraising, even for postage, the uMikes, Pitbul's etc go nuts.. trashing threads so the meat scrolls off. Same happens when one tries to explain one on one to somebody like you, I'd love to have articulate conversations and TEACH what I have learned, to people who are younger and have more energy than I do, without a bunch of goebbelsque catcallers yelling from the back row.

and there a lot of other 'anon' posters busy across multiple message boards.. layers of them... all at different places on those TEN STEPS including the FREEZONERS....all to contain folks. to PREVENT them from learning enough to get so pissed off that they decide.. Recently it has come to my attention that Mr. Joel Phillips wrote you a letter regarding
Andreas Heldal-Lund. I would like to inform you of a few things you may not know.

1. Joel Phillips used to work for me, when I was in the Church of Scientology. The Vice President of Scientology, Janet Weiland, had asked me to run a group that would basically “handle� what they call “Black PR�, which is bad words said about Scientology, or L. Ron Hubbard. At the time I was just as in the dark as Mr. Phillips, and as a result, believed Scientology was all good, and these critics were our enemies. I had NO idea that there was actually TONS of INFORMATION that I didn't know, that my own "Church" had lied to me about, and that these very critics were merely trying to help people find out the truth this insidious organization was so desperately hiding.

2. I was briefly the Executive Director for the Scientology Parishioners League, with Joel Phillips as my junior, and during this time, I actually met Andreas on-line, and he helped me greatly. He never told me anything negative about Scientology, in fact, he’s been nothing but a total gentleman in the years that I have had the pleasure of knowing him.

3. I had been doing my own “waking up� as I call it from Scientology, and meeting Andreas was sort of the final straw. Scientology had convinced me he was ‘The Devil�, yet he was one of the kinder, and smarter people I’d met in some time.

4. From a few things, one of which was the help from Andreas, I woke up, and decided I had to leave Scientology, as I was well aware of some of the borderline illegal things they had done, all under the guise of ‘religion’. At that time, I called Joel Phillips to tell him I was leaving, I wished him well, and he was in charge.

5. Some months after I left, I began to run into Joel Phillips. I was surprised to find him always trying to stop me from picketing, speaking out, helping families get their kids out of Scientology. The depth of his own mind control was amazing to me to see, now that I’m out, and still is to this day.

6. Since that time, Joel Phillips has now put up a Web site with pages and pages of lies about me, and many other critics of Scientology. Let me please make this clear to you: I’m positive Joel Phillips has NEVER read one word on Andreas’ site, and if he would read the information, he too would wake up, and leave.
(It is a “High Crime� in Scientology to read things such as Andreas’ site, which
Merely have facts written that Scientology fears their public will learn. They should fear it! If people ~did~ know the real truth, they too would leave).

7. Also, I’m quite sure Joel Phillips is just a name being used, a front man so-to-speak, so the Church of Scientology doesn’t look SO bad, writing such libelous things about so many people.


Lastly, Andreas has been a tremendous help to me in the 5 years that I have been out of Scientology. Scientology proposes to be many high and mighty things, most of which they are not. They are their own worst enemies, which I told them when I was "in". Andreas, on the other hand, actually demonstrates continuously (and quite humbly) all that they wish they were, and are not

8. All of this letter and the slamming of Andreas is based on a Policy L. Ron Hubbard Wrote, called “Fair Game�, which states:

“If people speak out against the Church of Scientology (or Hubbard himself),
A Scientologist can “Lie, Steal, Cheat, Destroy them utterly, with absolutely no consequences�.

9. Scientologists are shown a “Cancellation� policy which states this “Fair Game�
Policy was cancelled. I even stood up in Court, insisting it had been Cancelled.
I was positive it had been, however Scientology’s continuous Fair Game actions, such as Joel Phillips ridiculous letter to you all, proves the organization known as
The Church of Scientology still use Fair Game on a daily basis.

If you need any more information from me to help you understand this insidious organization and why they NEED to try to continuously stop any and all critics, or just people writing and telling facts they need to hide, including trying to stamp out Andreas, please let me know.

I don't know what the libel laws are like in your country or intenationally, but they have got to be better than the ones in the U.S.

It would apear that you have one heck of a libel suit here. Unless, like the U.S., your country has a "public figure" exception clause.

Cynthia Kisser's U.S. libel suit against COS was dismissed because it was claimed she was a "public figure" which meant she was "fair game" for slander.She was, at the time, the executive director of the CULT AWARENESS NETWORDK and has been on Nightline and some other tv programs.

Why don't you check out the feasibility of pursing a lawsuit for libel with an attorney in your country? COS is long past due for a kick in its libelous butt.

You've communicated with Ken Dandar, Florida lawyer for the Lisa wrongful death suit about the "Fat Man", so you could ask him what he thinks.

began a campaign of persecution against Dr. Clark. They wrote letters
to the dean of Harvard medical school and the director of the Massachusets
General Hospital. But they refused to gag him. Their agents tracked
down and telephoned several of his patients and ainterviewd their
neighbors
looking for evidence to impugn his private or personal actions.
They submitted a report to a committee of the Massachussets State
Senate. On three occasions over the last five years a Scientology
"front" called the Citizens Committee on Human rights have brought
complaints against him to the Massachussets Mediavl Board of Registration
alledging improper professional conduct. In 1980 he was declared a
"Number one enemy" and in 1981 they brought two law suits against him
(Summarily dismissed but costly and worrying). They distributed leaflets
at the Massachussets General Hospital offering $25,000 to employees
for evidence that would lead to his conviction on any charge of criminal

[Actually the claim that it was "susceptible to abuse" would have come
from Hubbard's HCOPL 22 Dec 80. The 3 Feb 68 code of reform offers
no reasons for cancellation, nor does HCOPL 7 Mar 69 except to say
"..it seems that new policies evolved have ended in reform for severe
internal discipline systems". However, Scientology here ignores the
fact that Scientology argued in court that "fair game" was
Constitutionally protected religous behavior under the 1st amendment
in the Wollersheim case, Christofferson-Titchbourne cases and others
well past 1968. Plus the fact the "fair game law" HCOPL of 7 Mar
1965 was still being promulgated in such Scientology books as
"Modern Management Technology Defined" published as late as 1986.

An autopsy report lists his death as "probable drowning" but notes that his head was not under water.
