Thank you everyone for the welcome. It is great to be here.

SchwimmelPuckel - thank you for a great laugh!

Antique Hoax - First, let me clarify something, I am a woman. I realize I did not make that very clear in my story - so my mom lost two daughters, and 4 grandkids.

Now to answer your questions: My dad and I have a wonderful relationship now, and we have talked about all he and I both learned in Scientology. He shared the "secret data" with me when I was still living at home. I was honestly afraid to hear it at first (see I had bought it all - hook, line and sinker) but once he spilled the beans about Xenu...I can't tell you how helpful it was. It was then that I felt safe in my own mind to relax and start to question what I had learned. We actually developed an inside joke in my house after that - when something went wrong, or someone was sad, or in a bad mood - one of us would just stop, look at everyone else for a second (we had a flare for drama), then grab an imaginary BT from somewhere on our body, fling it to the ground commanding "GET OFF", and then stomping that imaginary critter under the soles of our shoes. It never failed to produce laughter from everyone.

As for my mom, if she were to show up on my doorstep I would certainly welcome the opportunity to get to know her all over again. I would not cut her off from my life, or my children's lives - it isn't in me to do such a thing. However, it would be a long road to hoe as there has been a lot of hurt that we have never had the chance to deal with.

Friendly Nature, what are KR's? I've been wondering what I can do to help, so maybe taking pics will be a good start. Let me know the details, and I'll see if it's within the realm of possibility.

Sorry to hear of your problems with Black Scientology.

It really is a shame that happened to your family; Of course, I would have to talk to the rest of your folks before I assume this, but from what you say, from a Scientologists perspective, it sounds to me like your folks weren't wearing their 'keeping each other sexually happy' hat, and the subsequent out-2D led to even more justifications and irresponsibility until they both went nuts.

What happened to you is a terrible thing, but from my perspective its also squirrel, and tragic in that sense, too. No way a true Scientologist would've let all that happen to their 2D and still be able to make it up the Bridge. I bet your Mom is struggling, hard. I hope she isn't on any key post.

I'm sure your own new family are going to benefit from your strengths in understanding your own experience and applying it to make their lives better .. it seems to me, you've done the right thing: reported the outpoints to a group who can do something about it.

KR or K/R, Knowledge Report, a write-up of a cult member's supposed "crimes" given to the Ethics division; cult members are encouraged to report each other's transgressions a la Orwell's "1984."

Other Scientology definitions at http://www.xenu.net/archive/dictionary/

sure. at the tone scale of the society from which the organized group of scientologists are going to come from, this is one thing that can happen from a robotic application of KR policy.

but, say, among people who trust and respect each other well enough to perform a very difficult task, together as a group, a reporting system works very well to maintain open, honest, and .. frankly in some cases .. refreshing communication.

oh, and just because we have a word, or phrase, for something, doesn't mean you don't do it, too ..

Si_g,
It is your right to believe that you are controlled by engrams, which have been proven to NOT exist.

It is your right to believe that you are infested with dead space aliens that were blown up in volcanos, which did not exist during the dreaded but also equally fanciful event II of OT III.

It is your right to believe, contrary to all evidience, that L. Ron Hubbard was anything other than an chrismatic cult leader and psychopath.

These rights I will defend,

It is my right to think you are an idiot.

Well being a Homo Novis I should think you could figure this one out on your own.

I think you may have missed a point or two Si_g. I have no contact with my mom - so could not call her a squirrel, even it I wanted too. The second and more important point...I have been "out" longer than I was "in" and the same can be said of the rest of my family. The upset at being called a squirrel dissipaited long long ago. Simply put, Scientology "tech" means nothing to me...and I am quite happy that way.

the only thing stopping you from picking up the phone, calling her, and saying "Mom, you are squirrel", is you.

okay, well to me, your story is a tragic squirrel farce. i wish it hadn't happened.

and i do consider myself a Scientologist, which is why i'm bothering to point out, its your choice to be in the position you're in..
