As the originator of the "You may have been in Scientology too long....." thread, I must admit that joking and degrading have been some of my best contributions to this board.

On a personal level, exposing the absurdities of Scientology with humor has been my best therapy for getting over this cult.

You may have been in Scientology to long if.... getting a cert is the high point of your week/month/year. :wink:

Also, on a more serious note, there was Galileo's excellent series of threads, Debating the Core Concepts of Scientology. These were posted in spring 2003 and can be found in an archive search.

The search utility on this board really sucks compared to the one used on the old board. I need to be able to search for a phrase, not just key words. Anyone know how to do that here?

Instead I found some of my old threads by searching for my old nick as an author - Squirrel. Some of my old humor threads showed up on that author search.

I first posted as Squirrel from Denver, but I don't think I started any good threads with that nick in my first year posting here (2001).

BTW, I compiled the, "You know you've been in Scientology too long if..." thread into a text file, leaving out the inappropriate posts, and it still makes for hilarious reading. I don't know how I'd make it available here. On the old OCMB I uploaded it and you could download it directly. Of course that file wouldn't have the recent additions to the thread. It is numbered from 1-770, and the file is 96k (pretty large for a text file).

This ain't perfect BUT I always find what I am looking for when I do this.

I didn't like the search feature on the old board software. IMO, this one is better.

Thanks PGuy. I will give it a try.

I was putting my phrase in quotes the same as I would do with a normal search engine. Maybe that also caused some problems.
