In Scientology there is an action called "The Dating Drill" where one has to "Date the incident"...sometime in the past. One writes down a date,
and the other, using their E-meter, has to locate it. It goes, "Was it 10's of years, hundreds of years, thousands of years, millions of years" etc.
It's supposed to "read on the meter"...and rarely worked great. Finally, on their top level, I got sick of their endless :bs: So I made up "Skillions of years"...meaning whatever you damned well wanted it to be so it would read on the meter and we could finish the stupid drill! So that's why I said "Skillions" of viewers. It's over hundreds of thousands, usually; can be over millions.

As I posted, Mark and I met last night, and had--as always--some great
discussions.

As he told me some stories of days gone by, I said, "You have to make a video, for all to hear this!" He agreed, and pointed out, now that there
are SO Many new viewers, literally the critics scene has changed, dramatically from a small group on ARS, to skillions of people
popping on to learn more about XENU. :alien:

We need to keep in mind, many of us know a great deal. We've discussed various terms, and now use them amongst each other. Example:
"Wog". We all know what that means. However, these sites are literally getting TONS of new viewers daily, thanks to Scientology and little Tommy Cruise lying through their teeth about XENU, and South Park exposing the CON of Scientology to Skillions of people.

So we *could* either say "Wog" (Name for anyone not in Scientology)
or

Does anyone know IF there's already a sort of mini dictionary anyone's written with the terms simply described?

If not, that *might* be a good idea.

What do you all think? If it hasn't been done, does anyone want to help with it? I'd be happy to work on it, if a few others will help.

Let me know, ok? And welcome to any and all new people to xenu.net!
This is one great group of people, some critics, some x-scientologists, some just people interested in the Scio/Truman Show. (See, realistically, that term should be discribed, so people know what is meant by that, or a link to it's discription). See what I Mean? Let me know....and

Happy Easter!!

Great idea Tory!

That would be great to be posted as a reference, I could certainly use that.

P.S.

Happy Easter to one and all! :D

Thanks! Let me know if you'd like to help out. I think it's best we who were in create it, so they cannot say, "They never were in, so those definitions are false", etc. The critics who weren't in can then add their in put, once we get them--and depending, some have had great insight into the cult words. Once we get them named, we can then make sure they're simple, easy to understand, don't contain more cult words--making it harder to get---and then post it.

There are a bunch of people who used to be "in". Anyone else up for it? How about we each take 4 words to start. I'll take
wog
Entheta
OT
Dianetics +reactive mind
oh yea,
and The Scio/Truman show.

Anyone else up for 4 words? Name them, please.

This should be FUN! Also very helpful, in the long run, for all of us.

I was told when I was in, that it stood for a person who (because they are not in Scientology) was "WithOut Gains."
I don't know if they were trying to whitewash over the bigoted real origin of the word or if they were just "squirlling the tech" down here in OC.

It sounds like a fun idea actuall - if it doesn't get out of control. Scientology literally has skillions of its own definitions - not sure we could do all that.

Their own glossary is here http://www.scientology.org/wis/wiseng/gloss.htm it's got a lot in, though not the controversial words like Xenu, Bulgravia, fair game, OTO, TR-L etc - maybe i could define those .

WOG = "Worthy Oriental Gentleman". This was a slang phrase that was an old British term. Hubbard probably picked-up this term after he moved to England and established the St. Hill Organization.

Andreas has a dictionary here on this website. I used to reference it all the time when I first started coming here and reading.

I'd love to help but I was never in. I was ambivalent because I was never close to it. I always have walked past the "Free Personality test", laughed after reading Dianetics 20 years ago and rolled my eyes when I read an article about travolta's everyday use of the e-meter about 15 or so years ago (that's when I spoke to some EE PHDs and others about its detremental effects but that's another post).

So it took until first the SP "Trapped in the closet episode" for me to do some more in depth search into the cult named scientology and then when the first amendment was trampled by pulling the plug on a rerun for me to say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH THIS IS A DANGEROUS CULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Especially after then reading about the cults casuality list.

I know some terms from my reading but it will be nice to have a more consise and contained reference and thanks to all of you who help!

I wonder do scientologist refer to South Park as SP but meaning suppressive program instead :?:

The term "WOG" in days gone by was an extremely demeaning racist term used in Britain (and its colonies) basically to classify all black/asian types. It only really fell out of use in the late 70's. Basically, it was the old British alternative/addition to the word "nigger".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wog
Here in blighty the word "WOG" just does not seem to feature in our vocabulary anymore and not just because of any forced politcal correctness. It's just a daft unfashionable word in the sense that nobody here walks around saying "tally-ho chaps" or "spiffing" anymore ;).
Hubbard didn't invent the word and I personally think he probably adopted it back then precisely because of its demeaning impact and the fact that a lot of other countries, such as the USA, wouldn't know its real origin. I cringe whenever I see the word and would hate to see it used other than for related critique within the subject of Hubbard and $cientology possibily in order to show how racist (or at least patheticaly naive) Hubbard was.

Regards.
Keep up the good work Tory.

Not to my knowledge, but how about BS as a simple, short and effective description of $cientology terminology ?

Granted, it would make the dictionary extremely short and boring to read
but I think it would capture the essence of it. Wouldn't it ?

I'll take:

$cientology Ethics; ( The system devised by Ron to make people agree that it is ok to be dishonests if Ron profits from it )

Clear; ( Someone who has said goodbye to his bank a/c and all his savings and is now looking to complete suicide by doing the Over the Top
levels )

Sea Org; ( The state of being completely at sea with your mind, whilst wearing a nice uniform )

RPF ( Rest in Peace Fucker ! ) ( otherwise known as a $cientologists who
hasn't got who the boss is yet )

These were jokes anyway . . . just in case

On the more serious side, I like the idea but I am not really sure if there
is a simple enough way to make it really work, perhaps it is better if the
newbies become familiar with the terms by learning them as we all did. . . ? :questionmarksmiley:

I also like......
CLEAR: Empty of genuine thought. Someone who has cleared their mind of all normal cognitive functions. Zero brain cells are required to march rank and file to the tune because for them, merely the spinal cord will suffice.

Great idea Tory! I think though that since there are already several glossaries and faq of scientology terminology that maybe we should just add to them, kind of like wikipedia. You know how even the best threads get lost in the archives.

I try to define or spell out scientology words or acronyms when I use them...maybe if we were all more concientious about either not using scientologese or translating it if we do, and being patient when people ask us "what does that mean?" we can help educate new people about the cult better.

And to you PTS DB NCG EPF swamper SPs, Get your FO 38 in snap and pop or I will KR you to the MAA and you will get a Comm-ev and an SRA in the RPF! No case on post, use your Tone 40 and make it go right! NOW! No Dev-T!

Look it up. Ladybird 8)

FO 38: All staff members are supposed to follow FO38, which is a set of rules laid
out in Flag Order 38. It includes things like saying good morning, good
afternoon, or good evening to any staff member higher than you in the org,
getting out of the way in a hallway when higher staff are walking by, holding
open doors for any senior staff, and calling all seniors Mr.________, or "Sir" even if
they are female.

The rest of the words should be in the glossaries or scn dictionaries.
